Jiggley Jones Interview

Hello, Jiggley. Can you provide us with a little information about yourself?

Hi there… I’m Folk/Americana singer/songwriter Jiggley Jones from Southeastern Pennsylvania. I have a new EP out on Lamon Records Nashville.

…a mountain, a struggle, a tunnel, a light… is your new release. What inspired you to create this album?

This album is a collection of some of my new and older songs that I thought would go well together. The title of the record sums up the overall lyrical concept of life itself and the struggles and triumphs within.

Which tracks off of your EP are your favorites?

I would have to say “Walk On Me” and “Early Morning Light” though the opinion of others really goes all over the place when it comes to favorites, which is really cool.

Can you describe your creative process and your recording set up for us?

I usually start with the acoustic guitar and add the vocal melody over that. I actually do the lyrics last, using the already laid out music as my inspiration. I will put all my initial ideas on “tape” as soon as I can and that’s done on a small digital recording device that’s quick and easy to use. From there I’ll “perfect” it and then record it in a studio or my own home Pro Tools set up.

What artists are the greatest influences for you and your music?

That would be Neil Young, James Taylor, etc… Mostly songwriters from the “Classic Rock” era.

How does it feel to be nominated for the IMEA Awards?

Feels great ! I actually won the “Songwriter Of The Year” with them in 2013. This year I’m in the Adult Contemporary categories.

How can individuals get in contact with you and hear your music?

Everything “Jiggley” is at my website. You can branch out in every direction once you’re there: www.jiggleyjones.com

What memorable times have you had out on the road?

Snowstorms, traffic jams, funky motels and music lovers, lol !!

In a related question, where can listeners see you live in the next few months?

These days I’ve been sticking local around the Philly, South Jersey,  and the Northern Delaware areas. I haven’t played New York or Nashville in a few months.

Do you have any other statements for our readers?

Sure, I’m all about the creation of music. Bringing something brand new out of mid air is the only thing that will keep the music scene going. I hope that the readers give those types of artists their ear and hopefully within that they will find what they are looking for. Forward thinking !!

Thank you so much for your time.

My pleasure and thank you for what you are doing !!!
