Glass of Wine is the initial track on Ready To Go! and provides listeners with smart and bold rock in the format of Goo Goo Dolls and Incubus. The swirling guitar eddies and punctual arrangements that listeners will experience during the early registers of Ready To Go! will ensure that they are on the edges of their seats for the subsequent cuts. I need you now is a touching and heartfelt track that slows things down considerably. During this track, Falling Doves are able to create something that all can identify.
Nikki is a perfect blend of hard guitar riffs and supersonic vocals. The track is able to build off of the rich hair metal scene of the late eighties / early nineties and create something that works perfectly in the current period. The guitar solo that links together the two parts of Nikki keeps things balls to the wall and provides an emphatic ending to a dynamic track.
In to the fog begins with a very deliberate guitar line that takes on influences as different as Blue Oyster Cult and Soul Asylum before moving into a more introspective section. This blooms into something raucous, ensuring that the melodies of the song tattoo themselves firmly into the minds and hearts of anyone listening in. Make sure to visit the band’s website for more information about their upcoming tour dates supporting Jarabe De Palo. Until March 10th, we are giving three pairs of tickets for Falling Doves’ Cleveland date at Wilberts on the Ides of March (3/15). Ready To Go! concludes with a furious track that is as much Motley Crue as it is The Replacement; Falling Doves are able to create something different and wholly engrossing each time they step up to the place on this disc.
