Unfiltered Wheat Beer (Boulevard Brewing)

Boulevard Brewing’s Unfiltered Wheat Beer pours with a very light yellow to gold coloration and a citrus (lemon / orange) nose mixed with a decent amount of wheat. The beer is sublimely drinkable, with a light amount of fruit flavor that can be discerned amongst the strong wheat and grain flavors. The beer holds up well to increases in temperatures and is extraordinarily complex due to the inclusion of a small amount of yeast in the bottle. This allows for a greater intricacy of flavors, as secondary fermentation is occurring from when the bottle comes off the line to when individuals open up the stuff.Brand_Unfiltered_Wheat

The haziness of Boulevard’s Unfiltered Wheat Beer is different from the average macrobrew effort, but there is a good, easy drinking flavor to this effort that will appease those fans of beers made for resting and relaxing. The fruit flavors and the additional depth present here, light as they may be, will be appreciate by those that want something greater with their beers. At 4.4% ABV, one can put away a number of Boulevard’s Unfiltered Wheat Beers and feel pretty good. This is a great effort for the rapidly increasing spring months and will do well when the beginning days of summer start; this would be a good beer for sporting events, bar-b-cues, and other social gatherings, and it could be what is necessary to bring some macro drinkers in to the bevy of smaller brewery efforts.
