Jared Wesley The Reinvention of “The Cool” Volume 2 CD Review

Jared Wesley has just released the second release in his The Reinvention of “The Cool” title and has provided listeners wit a number of memorable cuts. Happy Belated is a track that links together intricate flows with a J Dilla meets Outkast-style production. The hard-nosed vocal style continues into Rippin N’ Rollin, a track that shows the Twista-fast vocals of Wesley.

The track never allows listeners to take a break, all while containing a hook-laden backing beat. Thr33 Mindz has Wesley take on the styles of a Big KRIT or Lupe Fiasco. The wide array of flows and overall sounds broached during this track keeps things fresh and listeners on the edges of their seats. Get ‘Em Nigga blends together a classic sound for the backing beat while refreshing the overall sound crafted by Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Snoop Dogg. Stevie Wonder / Old Dayz is a late-disc cut that maintains the same level of quality as Happy Belated and Rippin N’ Rollin; there is no chaff to be found on this mixtape.

Few artists are able to create a coherent album in an era of radio singles, but Jared Wesley is able to create a number of hits on volume 2 of The Reinvention of “The Cool”. Make sure to check out his social media profiles for the latest cuts, additional biographical information, ad any sort of live dates or meet and greets that Wesley may conduct. Keep an ear to the ground for Wesley’s subsequent releases, as the sheer passion and fire that he exhibits on this release is incomparable.
