ADDITIONAL DETAILS ANNOUNCED FOR TODD RUNDGREN’S TODDSTOCK II v6.5

Additional details have been announced for Toddstock II v6.5, a June 17-22 celebration of the 65th birthday of renowned multi-faceted artist Todd Rundgren. Family, friends and fans will join Todd Rundgren at Toddstock II v6.5, held at the historic Nottoway Plantation & Resort in White Castle , Louisiana.

Toddstock II v6.5 will culminate with an exclusive Todd Rundgren performance for Toddstock attendees on Saturday, June 22, the final night of the gathering and Rundgren’s actual birthday. Todd will perform songs from his new–and 24th–solo studio album STATE (Esoteric Antenna/Cherry Red), as well as classics from his expansive catalog. Todd’s latest musical vision is a fusion of rock, soul, R&B and electronica that is danceable, groundbreaking, spiritual, challenging and infectious all at once.

Toddstock II v6.5 will offer fans a rare opportunity to spend quality time with Rundgren and enjoy musical jam sessions while relaxing on Nottoway’s vast 22 acres on the Great Mississippi River Road in the heart of Louisiana’s historic plantation country.

While all rooms at Nottoway have sold out for the event, a limited number of Toddstock II v6.5 event passes and passes with tent camping are still available. Both scenarios include all event activities, meals and drinks for the week for $799 per person.

Tent campers must provide their own tent and bedding. However, portable tent air conditioning units are available for rent for $200 for the week. Tent camping will be located in a beautiful area of the Nottoway grounds, complete with a row of oak trees. Electric outlets, a deluxe trailer with 6 bathrooms and sinks, and a deluxe trailer with 7 showers and sinks will be provided for camping guests. In a recent interview with Jay Smith of Pollstar (March 26, 2013), Todd explained the idea behind Toddstock II v6.5. “It’s not the typical camp…what’s happening this year is essentially a commemoration of an event we had five years ago when I turned 60, and when I moved into my new house out here in Hawaii. We thought, ‘Let’s just invite the fans out and anybody who can make it out to Hawaii, we’ll provide a campsite for them and we’ll celebrate my 60th birthday.’ I, coincidentally, also was finishing a record at the time so we premiered the record at the event and then I went out on tour. And the fans kind of wanted to relive that particular event…Essentially, that is what the basis of that is. It doesn’t have the same kind of agenda as the musical summer camp in that we’re just there to hang out and kind of improvise our days, to not have a strict agenda.”

In addition to enjoying leisure time on the expansive Nottoway grounds, optional excursions such as plantation tours, swampboat tours, riverboat tours, golf, and historical tours of Baton Rouge and New Orleans will also be available for an additional fee.

Nottoway, the South’s largest remaining antebellum mansion, is situated on a stunning plantation estate nestled between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana. Nottoway recently was awarded the AAA “4 Diamond” rating. This prestigious recognition is awarded to less than 5% of the 30,000 properties approved by the American Automobile Association each year.

About Todd Rundgren

As a songwriter, video pioneer, producer, recording artist, computer software developer, conceptualist, and interactive artist, Rundgren has made a lasting impact on both the form and content of popular music. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Rundgren began playing guitar as a teenager, going on to found and front The Nazz, the quintessential `60s psychedelic pop group. In 1969, he left the band to pursue a solo career, recording his debut offering, the legendary Runt. But it was 1972′s seminal Something/Anything?, on which he played all the instruments, sang all the vocal parts, and acted as his own producer, that catapulted Todd into the superstar limelight, prompting the press to unanimously dub him “Rock’s New Wunderkind.” It was followed by such landmark LPs as The Hermit of Mink Hollow and A Wizard, A True Star, as well as such hit singles as “I Saw The Light,” “Hello It’s Me,” “Can We Still Be Friends,” and “Bang The Drum.”

In 1974, Todd formed Utopia, an entirely new approach to the concept of interactive musicianship, and embarked on an extensive round of touring and recording. Standout Utopia offerings included the hit singles “Set Me Free,” “One World,” and “Love Is The Answer,” and albums Oops! Wrong Planet and Adventures in Utopia. Along the way, Utopia combined technical virtuosity and creative passion to create music that, for millions, defined the terms “progressive rock” in Utopia’s early configuration, and “power pop” in its latter years.”

Rundgren’s myriad production projects include albums by Patti Smith, Cheap Trick, Psychedelic Furs, XTC, Grand Funk Railroad, Hall And Oates, and one of the best selling albums of all time, Meat Loaf’s Bat Out of Hell. Rounding out his reputation as rock’s Renaissance Man, Rundgren composed all the music and lyrics for Joe Papp’s 1989 Off-Broadway production of Joe Orton’s Up Against It (the screenplay commissioned by The Beatles for what was meant to have been their third motion picture). He also composed the score for Dumb and Dumber as well as a number of television series, including Pee Wee’s Playhouse and Crime Story.
