The ambiance of the restaurant is very inviting, with a set of distinct colors allowing for a look that will immediately draw individuals in. We were immediately brought to our table and had our drink orders taken. The soups and salad were ferried out in short order. The salad goes beyond typical restaurant fare, uniting typical lettuces with more esoteric greens. What results is something wholly unique, with a salad dressing that provides further oomph. The hot & sour soup is much more comprehensive of an effort than what one will typically find at an Asian restaurant; there is a considerable amount of chicken, tofu, and egg that will keep diners going as their entrees are prepared.

The Singapore Street noodles have delectable rice noodles and a panoply of additional inclusions (chicken, shrimp, and vegetables), while the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce has an ample amount of meat with a more muted set of flavors (black beans, scallions, mushrooms, eggs, and peas). If your party can soldier along, P.F. Chang’s has one of the most massive desserts that we have ever consumed – The Great Wall of Chocolate. The cake has to weigh in at over a pound, and contains a luxurious amount of icing and fresh fruits. All together, we were able to have a feast for two at around $50.

P.F. Chang’s is a great restaurant in terms of low price points, rapid-fire service, and a variety of items that will appease young and old. The spectrum of dishes that the restaurant offers makes it easy for veteran fans of Asian foods to find something fulfilling just as easily as those that may not be too familiar with this sort of fare. Aron Lyrd Good Times Great Times CD Review

Come Again opens up in a warm fashion, and slides into a cool and collected bit of funky, soulful rock. The shuffling beat of the track succeeds because of the smart instrumentation and insistent vocals encountered; the instrumental interlude keeps things fresh and inspires listeners to move onto Everybody Loves an event. Everybody Loves an event has Lyrd provide considerable amounts of narration, bringing listeners along for the ride. The beefy guitar work during the track imparts an early to mid 1990s feel to this cut, while Lyrd’s confidence here really sells the track. Grassy Banks changes things up and provides listeners with a different facet to Lyrd’s persona. This effort is much more sedate and softly-spoken; a different array of instruments chosen for this track further distinguish Lyrd as an eclectic and varied artist. The track gradually picks up steam and tattoos itself upon the hearts of anyone listening in; the ability of Lyrd to inspire with his music is unparalleled. Wasted draws upon a darkly emotive place for Lyrd, who creates a tremendously effective track with little more than vocals and guitar. The track builds off of the work of Deliverance-era Corrosion of Confirmity while keeping Lyrd’s own style front and center.

Made in a Minute has a chugging, straight-forward rock sound that is reminiscent of Blondie’s Call Me and Brownsville Station’s Smokin’ in the Boys’ Room. The track breaks through to current listeners with vocals that are in your face and stretch out beautifully upon the instrumental arrangements. Monty Greig I Just Want To Dance Single

I Just Want To Dance starts out with fiery horns; Greig’s inimitable vocals kick in shortly after. The track is able to take parts of the fifties, eighties, nineties, and today; Greig has frenetic energy through all three minutes of this cut; hints of the New Jack Swing era of R’n’B and the swinging lounge sounds of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin represent major influences to Greig on I Just Want To Dance. The dynamic that is created through the interaction of the aforementioned horns, percussion, bass, and vocals makes for a track that will stick with listeners long after the track ceases. The production of I Just Want To Dance is absolutely stellar, allowing the arrangement to seem neat and tidy while having tremendous amounts of emotional appeal. I Just Want To Dance continues to gain speed through its second half; as the horns and the remainder of the instrumentation continues to gain steam, Greig’s vocals are provided a proper palette upon which to shine.

Doug MacDonald Band Mr. Bones CD Review

The titular track to Mr. Bones is led by a story that would hang with the most memorable of country and western stars of the fifties and sixties. Doug MacDonald keeps things utterly vibrant and infuses this timeless style with a bold style and an inimitable set of pipes.

Honk Your Horn is a standout track on Mr. Bones, showcasing a delightful dynamic between the different elements of the Doug MacDonald Band. The track has a very straightforward approach that provides a breath of fresh air to the melodic rock of Loverboy or the Black Crowes. A guitar line that builds off of the Breeders classic Cannonball spins the track in a more psychedelic fashion. Shady Avenue puts the instrumentation front and center, establishing a wholly different feel to the album. When the vocals ultimately kick in, listeners will be treated to a Zappa meets Neil Young feel. Flip Flop Nation is a late-disc effort that will keep listeners utterly focused in on Mr. Bones, as the instrumentation instills a sense of urgency to the remaining compositions on the title. Don’t Turn Around may be the longest track on Mr. Bones, but it’s four and a half minute runtime will come and go quickly.

Lo-Pan Sets Up For Spring 2014 Tour

Ohio riff rock perpetrators LO-PAN, will enter Translator Audio in Brooklyn, New York next month to record their forthcoming new full-length for amplification station, Small Stone Recordings. Titled Colossus, the offering will be mixed and mastered by Andrew Schneider (Unsane, The Brought Low, Keelhaul) with art direction by Jason Alexander Byers (Black Black Black, Disengage). A Fall release is expected.

In related news, LO-PAN recently joined forces with the roadburning heavyweights at Tone Deaf Touring (Corrosion Of Conformity, Weedeater, ASG) and will embark upon a short stint of live abrasions later this month alongside manic noiserockers, Whores. The ten-date motorcade will include two special Small Stone Showcases in Cambridge and Brooklyn. The following month, the band will join reunited iconic stoner rock sorcerers, Spirit Caravan, and the wicked doom bringers in Pilgrim for a performance in Columbus with additional bouts of onstage debauchery to be announced in the coming months.
