"Weird Al" Yankovic (June 3rd, 2016)

The best way that I can describe seeing Weird Al live is that he puts on a show, not a concert. Weird Al has the ability to parody songs and engulf me into his performance that in any other instance I would not care to listen to the original. I can only describe his show as a comical musical journey filled with multiple hilarious costume changes and a very tight backing band that joins Weird Al with his non-stop energy on stage. This was my third time seeing him and each time I have been thoroughly entertained.

Being the metalhead that I am, I am not ashamed to admit just how much I have enjoyed his music over the years and going a step further that I actually prefer some of Weird Al’s versions to the originals, especially ‘Smells Like Nirvana’, the parody of Nirvana’s original ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.  I captured Weird Al in his Curt Cobain outfit during that song and with the lighting behind him he has an almost heavenly glow around him.

DSCN6500

His parodies of hit songs are beyond catchy and even now, weeks after the show I find myself listening daily to his ‘White and Nerdy’ version of “Chamillionaire – Ridin’ (Dirty)”. He performs most of his songs in their entirety but in an effort to fit in as many as possible from his vast discography Weird Al throws in a couple of medleys which he and his band have perfected over the years. He has so many awesome parody songs and his own original music that is the only way he can even try to fit in every fan’s favorite that they came to hear. For most songs the audience knew his parodies word for word and were singing along which adds to the overall experience.

In between songs (the costume changes), video displays show funny mock interviews from “Al TV” in montages that flow right into the next song and hilarious busts of laughter erupt from the audience as Weird Al and the band appear in the next costume arrangement. His parodies cover just about every big hit on the music charts since the early 80s and his music is not only fun but educational as he tutors while singing about proper word usage in the song ‘Word Crimes’, a parody of ‘Blurred Lines’ by Robin Thicke. The costume changes are one of my favorite parts as it really sets the tone for the song and the videos playing alongside the stage, and Weird Al is very adept transforming into each character along the way.

DSCN6530 DSCN6488 DSCN6533

It was an audience of all ages as Weird Al’s music is clean and family friendly. He and the band engage the audience throughout the entire show with their antics, costumes, facial expressions, musical and vocal abilities, and Weird Al takes a couple of roaming trips through the crowd to engage unsuspecting audience members.

DSCN6515

Weird Al is also famous for closing out his shows dressed as Obi-Wan Kenobi accompanied by Darth Vader and a group of Stormtroopers on stage who dance as he sings ‘The Saga Begins’ to the tune of ‘American Pie’ by Don McLean we hear the story of “…this here Anakin guy”.

I highly recommend seeing Weird Al as it is such an entertaining evening to a point that if it was your first time you almost regret not having seen him before it is that much fun. I never stopped smiling the entire show and even with a solid two hour set list I wish he had time for more. I have seen literally a ton of bands live over the years at many different concerts and I would most certainly rank Weird Al as one of my all-time favorite live performers. \m/

Astra Dolphin's Collection

Wait & See has a nice echo that adds considerably to the fullness of the composition, while Watching Over Me (feat. MC Wailer) is our favorite track on the release. It is during this single that Astra Dolphin is able to build upon the style of performers like Stevie Nicks and Cyndi Lauper. A reggae style is promoted here by the presence of MC Wailer to give a wholly different flair to the composition.I’ll Show You has a deliberate, focused sound that is hammered home by Astra’s vocals along with an emphatic bass and on-point percussion. The track rises and falls, taking listeners on a journey that deposits them far from where they began the track.

They Say is a haunting track that builds off of the sun-drenched rock of the 1980s with hints of Siouxsie and the Banshees and Police. The ability of Astra Dolphin to create something so dense and detailed ensures that listeners will have to play each track multiple times before hearing everything that has been secreted away.

Moving On is a track that works due to Astra’s decision to focus on two distinct threads on the song. The more ethereal vocals stand in bold opposition to the more wide and bold instrumental arrangements that play at the bottom of the track.

Never to Be Found has a more upbeat, early 1990s dance sound that keeps things interesting. The track succeeds due to the organic and electronic interactions that are interspersed throughout. The arrangements are beautiful backdrops upon which Astra’s vocals can shine. Astra Dolphin is able to create something unique and interesting with her music, even as a number of these tracks could easily succeed on alternative radio stations.

Rhea Monet - Turn Out The Lights

Rhea Monet’s Turn Out The Lights is a single that builds off of the strong female pop style of acts like Beyonce and Rihanna. A hard-hitting percussion sets the stage for the track, while the slinky, sultry vocals provided by Monet will get listeners up and active. The track will be equally appreciates by fans of pop and R&B. The call and response of the snap/clap/vocal lead out will tattoo Turn Out The Lights’ melodies deep into the hearts and minds of listeners. Here’s to hoping Monet is able to continue the high momentum of this single throughout the summer.

How To Play Like A Pro At Blackjack

Blackjack is one of the most popular gambling games in the world, and there are many successful blackjack players. If you want to learn how to play like a pro, there are many blackjack tips and guides that can be accessed. Or you could progress the old fashioned way, as practice really does make practice, the more you play the more advanced your skills will become. There is also this handy guide to help you on your way at becoming a blackjack pro.

Basic Strategy

First of all you need a basic blackjack strategy to be able to master the game and become a pro. In live blackjack games as a pro player you will need to execute decisions without a second though. Forget about hunches, and second guesses. Go with your gut instinct as the majority of professional blackjack players will never deviate from basic strategy; they just advance their strategy.

Pick The Right Table

Whether you are a novice player or have been trying to become a professional blackjack player for a while now, you will realise that not every blackjack table is a good table. When entering a casino do not sit at the first table you come to, look for one that has a few players as this will be an indication on a better table. If it looks as though there are no seats available at a table then be patient. As at the end of the day the casino won’t be getting up and walking away, wait until someone else does so you can take their seat and begin playing.

Get Use To Failure

The biggest step you will need to master if you plan on playing blackjack like a pro is realising that you can’t succeed without failure. At one point when you play like a pro you are bound to lose, you just need to accept it and power through. The most important thing is once you have lost, is to continue on and try to not let it affect your game or your strategy.

Remain Cool

This can also come in handy with other classic casino games; you will need to put your poker face on when at the blackjack table. If you get stressed or worked up when the dealer wins a hand or is the player next to you splits a pair of tens this will cloud your judgement and lead you to make bad decisions. If you are series about playing like a pro, then all professional blackjack players have learnt the art of self-discipline and self-control.

Tip When You Please

Many professional blackjack players feel as though it is polite and correct casino etiquette to tip the dealer after a session that has been won. You shouldn’t feel pressurised to tip the dealer if you don’t want to, but if you have won a game take the win in a gracious stride. As no one likes a boastful winner, and also know when to stop. If you have won, walk away with your winnings as if you carry on playing they could dwindle down to nothing, so always know when to stop.

Sharkoon Skiller Pro Gaming Keyboard

There are a number of gaming keyboards that are all vying for market space. The sheer range of quality means that one can purchase a keyboard from about $20 out to a price point exceeding $300 for some of the professional gaming models. We received the Sharkoon Skiller Pro Gaming Keyboard for review that is on the lower end of prices ($29.99 at online retailers) but at no point should individuals consider this to be on the bottom end of quality.

Sure it is true that you aren’t receiving programmable LEDs with the shark keyboard but one will be quite pleased at the tactile feel of the keyboard, along with the considerable amount of personalization that is present with the different macro options available. With other keys that can be mapped to video replay, the home screen, monitor settings and the email, the sheer amount of functionality that is present with the Sharkoon Skiller Pro Gaming Keyboard is comparable to above-$100 keyboards. The response that one will get when typing is fulfilling; the satisfying click of the keys allows one to create a rhythm with each sentence.

The keys are pretty equal in terms of size to the gaming keyboards on the market while the blue backdrop is stark in full sunlight and during the hours of the early morning. The Sharkoon Skiller Pro Gaming Keyboard will do a tremendous job for those who receive it as a birthday or holiday gift and it does its job perfectly fine. The Sharkoon Skiller Pro Gaming Keyboard is available for about $30 and would be a perfect purchase for anybody in a pinch or for somebody doing their first gaming computer build. For more information about the entire product line that the shark company creates visit Sharkoon’s main domain. Sales and other products announcements are available on Sharkoon’s social media profiles.

A comfortable, cute summer outfit from HydroChic

We received an outfit from HydroChic – their Pedal Pusher Styled Swim Shorts and the Eclipse Swim and Sport Short Sleeve Rashguard – to evaluate and test during the early summer months.  The articles of clothing are a perfect multi-tasking ensemble. The top is made with a water repelling fabric and conforms closely to one’s body. The print on the top is done in a fashion that it will not stretch, fade, or crack with normal use. Despite the garment’s close fit, it is complementary to the human form. Furthermore this closeness allows for the garment to grip onto one’s body without riding up or otherwise causing embarrassment. The stitching and overall quality of the garment is very high meaning that it can stay in heavy rotation in one’s wardrobe.

The swim shorts are modest but have a current and contemporary flair, meaning that individuals from 20 to 60 will be able to look good modeling the bottoms. The bottoms come a point below the ankle. The bottoms are designed in a fashion that create a close but comfortable fit. This means that one can run or bike and without chafing or otherwise becoming uncomfortable. Taken together these two items will be a tremendous addition to their outdoors clothing stock as we move ever closer into the middle of the summer months. The HydroChic website is a great resource for anyone that is looking to see the entirety of their product lines or put in an order of their own. The company is very good in providing options for the widest variety of sizes;  make sure to visit their online store for the latest and deals and other offerings.

A Night at a Mansion: the Glidden House

Long-time readers of NeuFutur will notice that our coverage has changed over the years. We initially began as a music magazine, expanded into movies, and gradually added health and fitness and travel sections in the last few years. The wife and I had our first child, and as a result, the type of material that we covered has changed again. We were invited to a Cleveland institution, the Glidden House, and were impressed at how good service made for any hiccups regarding our children disappear.13521865_10104401302810914_8058487573542491440_nThe staff at the Glidden House were ready and willing to help out with any concerns. Whether it was finding local restaurants that served late, attractions for the day of our visit, or even a late-night silverware request that we had, the employees went above and beyond. We were particularly impressed with a senior member of staff that informed us about the history of the Glidden House, an AAA-rated Three Diamond boutique hotel during our latter request.
13532763_10104401302930674_5219635210151705067_n

The hotel (1901 Ford Drive, Cleveland, Ohio) is centrally located in University Circle, meaning that there are a number of dining options and attractions to delve into during one’s stay. While the Glidden House is a slight jaunt from Cleveland’s downtown (8 miles, or about 15 minutes with normal area traffic), the ability to avoid much of the hectic driving conditions of the city make it a smart choice for those with business in the area.

The downstairs is ornately designed, with the dining room done in a fashion that is reminiscent of the era when it was still a possession of the Glidden family. The Glidden House has a number of amenities that make it extremely easy to stick around the area; the Trentina restaurant is on the hotel’s property, while guests are treated to a European-style breakfast. For those having business in Cleveland, the free parking, Wi-Fi and printing access will further decrease the stress that one may have.13512113_10104401302785964_5908442058010725412_n

When one enters their room, they will see the duality which the Glidden House offers; there is a scenic view from one’s window connecting a large (when compared to many hotels) room to the lush foliage surrounding the hotel. The 42” LCD TV has a bevy of stations to keep all members of the family occupied, while one can secret themselves away in the room’s inviting tubs. For those visitors that would like a historic Cleveland experience, the Glidden House offers the chance to stay in a number of suites that were part of the original 1910 housing plan. We were a big fan of the Palette Lounge that really captured the essence of the early 20th century; the bar can easily accommodate 15-20 people in close and cozy confines. The same wide-open feel is cultivated nicely here with large windows and tree cover.13512085_10104401302830874_7661055610129172331_nWhile the Glidden House is a perfect location for those on business as well as those looking to spend a night away from their domicile, the Glidden House can be reserved for events, parties, and wedding receptions. When one considers that they are cavorting and carousing in a 100-plus year old mansion, the $179 (newer room) to $239 (mansion suite, with a mini refrigerator, wet bar, and microwave) cost seems extremely low. The Glidden House offers a number of specials which bundle access to museums (Museum of Natural History, Museum of Art, Western Reserve Historical Society, and the Botanical Gardens and Glass House), tickets to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, or a dinner at L’Albatros.13557881_10104401302965604_7327761605703178266_n

Where there is a certain allure to reserving a hotel downtown in Cleveland, the simple fact is that the University Circle is a vibrant and happening area. The experience that one has when they spend a night at the Glidden House is unparalleled, representing the best time that we have spent in a Cuyahoga county hotel room.  Getting a room at the hotel should be a no-brainer if a trip to the JACK Casino, the Quicken Loans arena, or Progressive Field is in the cards. If you find yourself in Cleveland this year, check the Glidden House for availability; the experience that you will have at this hotel is world-class. The Glidden House’s website possesses all the information that one could want concerning room amenities, prices, booking the hotel for private events, and a reservation system that is extremely easy to utilize.

Mark Angels - Do It For Love

Mark Angels creates a bouncing, intense sort of dance track that takes up hints of drum & bass and R&B to create something wholly unique. Strong vocals punctuate the cut, while an on-point percussion fills out the track. The production allows these distinct elements the opportunity to shine along or to contribute to the overall sound of Do It For Love. The energy is kept high through Do It For Love, giving it enough oomph to remain on radio rotation through the rest of the summer. Here’s to hoping Mark Angels is able to continue this high momentum in his next single.

Battleground (Mantra Brewing)

Battleground is Mantra Brewing’s farmhouse ale, an effort that pours with a hazy dark-yellow to gold color. There is a solid amount of whitish head that laces its way down the glass. The head (and lacing) is tenacious, but does ultimately fade. The nose of Battleground has heavy amounts of grain and floral elements present, while the initial sip of the ale is surprisingly dense in terms of flavors. Bits of bitterness dominate, but a sweeter, candi sugar-like yeasty profile becomes commonplace at the end of each pull. The wheat and malt flavors of Battleground wax and wane, ensuring that no two sips of the beer will be precisely the same. The ABV of Mantra’s farmhouse offering is fairly low (5.1%), allowing all of the more delicate elements of Battleground to shine.

The beer’s wheat and sweet elements become more prevalent as Battleground continues to approach room temperature, creating something that is decidedly different from what it was when one initially opened the bottle. It is this eclectic nature that makes this such a good beer for the dog days of summer, where one wants something that has a wide array of flavors but is not overly thick. The strong wheat undertones will appease those that are fans of wit and lager styles, but the depth of flavors that make their presence known in a glass will be a pleasant experience by anyone that likes something more with their bears.

Check out the Mantra domain or social media profiles for more information about the brewery, their tap room, and news/events. We’ll be reviewing other Mantra beers in the months to come. If you find yourself in the Franklin, Tennessee area, the brewery’s taproom has a number of expressions that have not made it into bottles.

The Top 10 Reasons to Continue Studying

Studying definitely doesn’t have to come to an end once you’ve finished school or university. With so much out there to learn, we’ve put together the top ten reasons why you definitely shouldn’t be considering finishing learning any time yet.

1. Career Opportunities

Carrying on studying even after you’ve graduated from university and landed a good job means that you’re in with a better chance of furthering your career even more. With courses like the six sigma online training course for business available and other e-learning courses to choose from, there’s plenty that you can study in your spare time to open better career opportunities for the future.

2. Personal Development

Who says that you have to study to get something out of it such as a qualification or a better job? For many people, study is something that they do for pleasure and personal development. You don’t have to study rocket science – learning a new skill, for example teaching yourself graphic design or learning a language – can be great fun.

3. Why Miss Out?

There’s so much to learn out there! Why would you want to miss out?

4. Boost Your Self Esteem

Studies show that learning and achieving is one of the best boosters for your self-esteem. If you’re feeling down about yourself, studying can be a great method of not only improving yourself academically and broadening your knowledge, but also making yourself feel better.

5. Career Change

There’s no rule that says that you have to stay in the same career for the rest of your life. If you’re continuously learning new things, you’re better equipped to make a sudden career change later down the line if you decide that what you’re currently doing simply isn’t for you anymore.

6. Parenting

Even if you don’t have children of your own now, making learning and study a lifelong hobby can definitely improve your parenting skills when the time comes, as you’ll be able to teach your kids all kinds of cool stuff.

7. Impress People

Who doesn’t enjoy impressing others? If you make a habit out of studying, learning new things and even gaining new qualifications, you’re definitely going to turn a few heads – especially the important ones, like your boss at work who could well be so impressed that you get a promotion.

8. Better Job Title

If you’re planning to do some extra study for a better job, it’s good to note that image is everything in today’s day and age. If you have “MBA” or “PhD” after your name, you’re definitely going to be in a better position to get the job you want.

9. Become an Expert

Studying further allows you to carry out research, which can establish you as an expert in your field.

10. Do It For Yourself

Last but not least, simply studying for yourself can be a great way to pass the time, meet new friends and improve your opportunities.

Why do you study? We’d love to hear from you in the comments.

The Top 10 Reasons to Continue Studying

Dreamliner Travel Bassinet

A major cause for concern for parents that are out on the road is that their child will be intimated by the new surrounding. We were at the Glidden House Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio a few weeks ago and got little in the way of sleep because our daughter did not feel comfortable and cozy enough to fall asleep. To combat this feeling of loneliness, Diono offers their Dreamliner Travel Bassinet.

There are a number of smart design decisions that Diono has include in their Dreamliner Travel Bassinet. The material wipes off easily to ensure a clean and hygienic surface for a baby to play on, while the thick pad makes for a surface that is comfortable no matter where one places the bassinet. There are so few in the way of steps that are needed to prepare the Dreamliner Travel Bassinet, primary of which surround the placing of the top netting.

We strongly recommend the Dreamliner Travel Bassinet for any parent that wishes to provide a comforting environment for their child. It works perfectly as a way to ensure that children that are crawling remain safe, while the netting makes nights out under the stars possible during these summer months. The small footprint of the bassinet is one of its strongest features. When strollers and playards take up a large amount of space in a car’s trunk, parents will be pleased at how flat the Diono travel bassinet can fold; one could even sit it on their floorboards.

The Dreamliner Travel Bassinet is available from Diono, online retailers, and a number of brick and mortar stores for around $75. For more information about the full line-up of Diono’s products, visit their website and social media profiles.

The bassinet comes in grey and teal colors.

Akron Ale Fest this Saturday, 6/25

Over the course of the last few years, the microbrewery scene in Akron has caught fire. It makes sense that Akron would have a celebration about these breweries, and on Saturday (6/25) at The Trolley Barn (47 N. Main Street), the first Akron Ale Fest will take place.

Property of the Akron Ale Fest

A variety of long-time and newer microbreweries will be serving at the event. Thirsty Dog, Mucky Duck, Aqueduct Brewing, R. Shea, Hoppin’ Frog, and the Ohio Brewing Company will represent the Rubber City.

Other breweries from around Ohio will make inroads at the Akron Ale Fest, including Birdfish Brewing Company (Columbiana), Mad Cap Brew Co (Stow), The Butcher and the Brewer (Cleveland), Maize Valley Brewery (Hartville), Kindred Artisan Ales (Gahanna), Scenic Brewing Company (North Canton), Royal Docks Brewing Co. (Canton), The Canton Brewing Company (Canton), Lineage (Columbus), Franklin Brewing Company (Elyria), Portside (Cleveland) and Platform Beer Co (Ohio City).

Tickets are available from the Fest’s main website. The “Drinker” ticket provides one with a tasting glass and 23 tickets for samples. In order to foster a safe drive home, the Fest also offers a $10 ticket for designated drivers. The DDs of the day will be given water and 2 of Akron’s own NORKA soda.

The Akron Ale Fest is sponsored by Crafty Mart; part of the company’s impression upon the day comes in the large amount of artisans that will be selling their wares. Music will be played throughout the day.

There will be a number of food options available from 1-5 PM at the Akron Ale Fest, including Nuevo, The Orange Truk, The Pierogi Lady, Stray Dog, and the Urban Eats Cafe. As Akron is still quite the city on the rise, attendees to the Akron Ale Fest will not need to pay an exorbitant parking fee. Rather, parking by The Trolley Barn is cheap and ample. The weather for Saturday is slated to be bright, sunny, and around 85-90 degrees, but the Akron Ale Fest will continue on no matter how the skies may look.

If you’re a fan of craft beers and want to find some new watering holes, check out the Akron Ale Fest on Saturday.

Shenanigans Summer Ale (Indeed)

Shenanigans Summer Ale is Indeed Brewing’s latest seasonal, and it looks to capture the lawnmower beer market. At the base level, there is no denying that Shenanigans is able to revamp the wheat ale format in a fashion that few beers can. The ale has a good amount of wheat and grain elements that are married to a small hint of bitterness at the conclusion of each sip. Shenanigans pours with a yellow coloration and a good amount of offwhite head that sticks around for a decent bit after pouring. The nose yields hay and grass notes, while the first few sips showcase a citrus bite that gradually fades as Shenanigans Summer Ale begins to approach room temperature. The brewery utilizes Sorachi Ace and Lemondrop hops to push on the more floral and grassy side of things; a low IBU (14) ensures that even those that are not a fan of overly-biting beers will be able to find something that they appreciate in Shenanigans Summer Ale. The inclusion of honey makes for a slightly sweeter brew but it acts more as a counterpoint for the hops rather than making the effort cloyingly sweet.

I’d like to see a little more in the way of hops included in the brew, but would gladly pick this up for all of the pool parties and social gatherings that will be occurring over the hottest months of the year.

We reviewed Indeed’s Rum King late last year and 2016 LSD a few months back; one can find information concerning the full list of Indeed efforts on a seasonal and year-round basis from the brewery’s domain and social networking websites.

Shenanigans Summer Ale is available in 6 packs, 12 packs and drafts from March to August in Indeed’s distribution footprint.

Rod Melancon - "Perry"

Rod Melancon is able to create a smart sort of indie rock with his latest single “Perry” that builds off of a framework that utilizes hints of early Goo Goo Dolls, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and The Replacements. Strong guitar work and a dusty set of vocals make for something that works. The production of Perry allows Rod’s vocals, guitar, and punctual drums to shine on their own and as a unified effort. Smart rhythms and an intelligent narrative make this a rare find among all the flotsam that washes up on our shores.

Majestic - Beast Mode / Fake Life

Fake Life starts with a deep and dark beat that calls comparisons to gangster music, 50 Cent, and Rick Ross singles. The energy brought the cut by Majestic’s vocals is reminiscent of artists like Tech N9ne and Brotha Lynch Hung. A bit of screwed and chopped lyrics provide further variety to the track, while the intensity of Majestic’s vocals keep the replay value of the song high.Majestic’s unique take on rap music means that he brings a bit of harmony to the overall composition along with establishing the narrative of the composition. Few rappers are able to create something wholly different in a music genre that is nearly at its 40-year mark, but the depth of Fake Life is something that adds further to the corpus of the genre.

Beast Mode has a slower, more deliberate flow that plays over a twinkling production. The song does much to create the overall spirit of Majestic; there are nods to traditional gangster movies, gritty topics, and a no frills approach to the track that showcases the raw reality lived by Majestic. A shift away from English at the mid-point of Beast Mode keeps listeners firmly on the edges of their seats until the track concludes.

Back In The Day moves away from the New York rap style of Beast Mode and Fake Life to adopt a style seemingly built off of the work of the West Coast. Ample use of sampling and sizzling instrumentation further tattoo the effort deep into the minds and hearts of listeners. For more information about Majestic and samples from his discography, visit the Rameca Records Facebook or Majestic’s own Youtube website. We’ll be eagerly waiting for more singles to drop from this bleeding-edge performer.

Moon Phase (Fort Point Beer Co.)

Moon Phase, from Fort Point Beer Co (San Francisco, CA) pours with a bronze to moderately brown coloration with a fair amount of slightly off-white head. The nose of the brew is fairly mysterious; light hints of brown sugar and malt can be discerned. Individuals will not receive their first full experience with the brew until their first sip, which comes forth with hints of dark fruit, toasted malt, brown sugar, and vanilla. Playing alongside the more dominant flavors of the quadrupel style, the bourbon barrel aging does much to provide greater depth. A smaller amount of hop bitterness (30 IBU) do much to decrease the sweet side of Moon Phase; a yin/yang relationship between the candied and the hoppy makes for a better balanced offering. As one continues along a 22 ounce bottle, the specific array of tastes that are available at any one time shifts and changes. It is this scintillating, protean style of Moon Phase that makes it into such a special beer.

While there are moments toward the end of one’s experience with Moon Phase where an alcoholic bite makes itself known, the 13.0% ABV mark of Moon Phase is hidden extremely well. It is this smoothness and fullness of flavors that make this effort such a big hit at NeuFutur offices. Moon Phase can be paired with strong-flavored (e.g. Indian, Thai) cuisines, sharp cheeses, salty snacks, and dried meats; the large number of twists and turns that one will experience in Moon Phase makes it something that one will appreciate from the opening quaff to the finishing sip.

Fort Point’s social media profiles are excellent repositories for information concerning their latest releases, events, and other brewery news.

A few moments with Tara O'Brien, "Unchained"

Can you give us a little background information about yourself as a performer?

Of course! I’ve been playing piano since the age of 4. Let me preface all of this with the following story:

It all started when I would spend my afternoons at my neighbor’s house. She was a voice coach and I would watch every lesson as she would play the piano, do vocal exercises, and have her vocalists sing. As she would walk her students out the door and greet the following, I would run the piano to imitate the warm-up exercises she would give her students. I did this for about 6 months until my neighbor finally went up to my mom to let her know she needed to get me into piano lessons. My mom was baffled hearing this and believed there was truly a mistake. Nonetheless, my mom saved up $20 bills from all her extra hours in French tutoring lessons until she gained enough to buy a second hand piano. Long story short, I’ve never stopped playing since…!

That’s how it all began… and then I continued taking lessons with several teachers. My first teacher actually scared me and I remember picturing my lessons as being dark. All I would do is cry before heading into those lessons. Luckily, my mom stopped me from going to those lessons while looking for another teacher. She then found “the one.” I say that now with hindsight because I couldn’t speak more highly of her: “Edith” … an angel sent from heaven. Although I truly believe I’m meant to play and been given this “gift” for a reason, I know Edith has had the biggest impact a teacher can have on a student. I saw her passion for piano and music. The love she had for playing transpired through every fiber and pore she had… it just made me want to play even more, despite the innate obsession and fasciation I had with the piano to begin with.

Honestly, I should tell you about the cusp moment where I had to choose between piano and ballet. I grew up playing both simultaneously, but there came a point, at age 14, where I was told I had to make a choice between the two. Financially, my mom was basically raising my brother and I alone and financing both loves was no longer possible. I was faced with the following questions: “Which one can you no live without?”  Looking at it from that standpoint, it was undeniable… piano was my breathe… my air… my everything… my escape… my therapy… I literally couldn’t live without piano…

I continued to learn from several teachers, all the way through college… And I still continue to learn until this day. I believe you’re never done learning!

Hopefully I answered the question! I think it’s more “my life as a musician” because I don’t perform a ton. I’ve been teaching since I’m 14 and my life revolves around kids, piano, and making my own music. Maybe one day, when I work less, I’ll play and perform more!

You have just released your fourth album, Unchained. What process did you employ from the initial germ of thought about music to recording it?

Oh man… Unchained… What a project and journey it has been… I started Unchained in 2010 and was still in college, Chapman University, at the time.  I remember coming back home and starting to write the piece “Unchained.”

This is personal but all my music is personal and hiding where it all stems from would defy the purpose of sharing…  During my last semester of college, things started falling apart at home (in the Bay Area, more specifically Marin). My father began using drugs (as he had done in the past) and it escalated to the point where my childhood home became a drug addict platform. After graduating from college, I came home and saw my dad spiral down in the world of drugs… I became more and more defensive and refused to overlook the way he had treated my mother and brother all these years.  He had always been an alcoholic and physically and emotionally abused both my mom and brother. Ever since the day I refused to accept that behavior, and felt the role to protect my brother and mother, anger began to grow towards my father. That’s when I started writing the piece “Unchained.” It felt so dark as I began to compose it, but helped be relieve so much pain I was withholding. It took a couple months to complete (the piano version) before I swore to myself that this was one of my greater compositions, and that I would orchestrate it and push myself beyond what I had done before.

The journey of Unchained was about 5 years long. It took my at least 4 years to write and come up with all the pieces I wanted for the album. I took some pieces that I had written in 2010 and started orchestrating them in 2012 and 2013. This is the first album where I took my time and didn’t rush the process. Once all the pieces were composed and completed, that’s where I started looking for a studio that would be able to record with live artists. After finding Fantasy Studios, the recording process began January 1st 2015 … way to start that year, right!? I spent 16 hours (over two days), 10 the first day, and 6 the next, laying down all the piano tracks… I was drained! But then the real fun began! One by one, the musicians would come in and record their parts over the piano tracks. Adding the 15 other instruments took about 2 months. We then moved to the editing, mixing, and finally, mastering! The album was finally done and released on June 30th 2015 =))

What is your favorite composition on Unchained?

Trying to choose between the 24 pieces on the album Unchained is nearly impossible… Of all my albums, I’ve always had my top 2 or 3 favorites… Well, on this one… honestly!?!?! With the exception of one piece, I could listen to all of them 24/7!!! I’m basically obsessed with my entire album…!

BUUUUUUT, if you must REALLY know… oh my gosh… ok. This is so hard…. Let me pick my ALL TIME FAVORITE(S)??? (still, this is so unfair! I could pick them all!!!!)

Ok. I’m going to go with my top 7

      1. Unchained: both Orchestrated & Piano Solo

      2. A Dark Waltz: both Orchestrated and Piano

      3. Mesmerizing: orchestrated & piano solo – because it’s addicting to play.

      4. The Storm: orchestrated especially, because it’s the biggest orchestration I’ve written for (15 instruments) so I’m very proud

      5. Hearts on Fire: this is a solo piano piece. It was the last piece to make it onto Unchained. Originally, it was supposed to be another piece but I fell in love and wrote this piece, hence the title “Heart of Fire” …. I just felt like my heart was burning in flames from how in love I was feeling with the person I had just met. This piece is addicting to play…

      6. Hurting: both piano and orchestrated versions… The piano version feels so good to play but the orchestrated version adds that intensity that the piano can’t… I’m addicted to this piece as well… I could listen to this one on a loop.

      7. A Maelstrom of Notes and seriously all my other solo piano pieces… I just can’t speak more highly of them… As a musician and composer, playing the pieces on this album just feeds my addiction and nurtures my need for playing…

Sorry I couldn’t narrow it down more!!! I’m just so in love with my fourth album!

Which musicians possess the greatest influences to your overall sound? Have these influences changed from your debut Cascade to Unchained?

All the classic composers have had the biggest impact on my music. I’ve been obsessed with classical ever since I could remember. Composers such as Chopin, Beethoven, Bach, Liszt, Rachmaninoff are probably my top guys… and I’m a romantic at heart so I definitely mix in those emotions into my compositions.

I also love Yann Tiersen and Ludovico Einaudi and hope my music becomes as prevalent in movies as theirs is.

While an artist’s font of influences may change over time, one thing we’ve noticed is that a musician continually grows and changes. How has your music evolved since Cascade or even since My Love for You?

I have definitely grown as a musician since my first album Cascade. I feel my pieces have gained more structure and depth as well as difficulty. Of course the level of difficulty doesn’t always resonate more in people, but as a musician, it’s fun to see my technique evolve.

And there’s also the undeniable fact that I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone of piano and added all these orchestral instruments in my fourth album Unchained. I had never written for other instruments until this album. It’s funny though because I feel my orchestration isn’t the “normal” way… meaning, I’ve composed in the perspective of a pianist’s mind. I definitely feel I have a lot more growth to do in the orchestral world but one must start somewhere!

How can listeners hear samples of your music?

The easiest way to hear my music would be Spotify since it’s free for the listener and my entire albums are available. Actually, I just noticed my 3rd album My Love for you, isn’t there. That will be taken care of soon! So yes, Spotify, iTunes, or Pandora are the best ways to hear my music. I also have YouTube versions of many (older) pieces. I’ve been more secretive and saving the pieces from Unchained so you’ll find less of those pieces on YouTube.

How does your approach to music change when you put on your different hats (as a musician, as an instructor)?

Oh man that’s a great question… well honestly I don’t perform much as a musician. The biggest performances are at my student’s recital (or rather, I should say, my music school’s recitals…). I’ve given several concerts but have been mainly concentrating on growing my music school. I currently have 14 music teacher teachers working for me… anyway…!

My approach to music when I put on my different hats… Well, I am always trying to better myself as a musician and am always pushing myself to learn new classical pieces. I’m obsessed with classical and have a weekly craving for learning from the great composers (like the ones I mentioned above) I can never learn enough. The more I learn and gain in my classical repertoire, the more I can give to my students.

That’s where my hat changes when I teach. I never impose my love of classical on my students. Honestly, the age range of my students is from 3 to 82 years old… All students learn differently but my main purpose in life is to share and pass on my love for piano to all those I teach. Of course I would love for all my students to play classical because that’s what I feel is the hardest and what makes you the strongest pianist… but I never impose. When they start to be older, and that the love for piano has already been instilled, I test the waters and see if classical music is something they’re be interested in trying. By the time my students are teens, they’ve learned to read music and have developed an excellent ear. It’s around that age that I’ve noticed students desire play more challenging pieces (“harder music with notes”).

When my instructor cap comes on, I am the most passionate (well, that doesn’t change from my musician side!) and most understanding teacher there is. I adapt and mold myself to the student in order to grow the music seed they have in them. I am here to water, grow and nurture it to become the most beautiful music flower it can be! All flowers have their own distinctive appearance and charm… it’s the same for music. We’re all unique and I hope I can help develop and grow that uniqueness in every one of my students.

What other events, music, and matters does the rest of 2016 hold for you?

To date, I can only think of one event: December Teacher Concert. I own a music school: Cascade Melody School of Music, and in December, I will be gathering all our talented teachers to perform for all our students, as well as friends and family.

I would love to do another concert, but my time and energy has been consumed running and growing my music school.

What has been more of a boon for you – traditional word of mouth meeting or online (Soundcloud/Facebook) interactions? Generally, what has the role of the internet been for you as a performer?

I have never been a big promoter for my own music. It used to be a lot harder for me to tell people how many albums I have, that I’m on iTunes, Spotify, and Pandora… I didn’t even tell people I had released my first album Cascade!! IBut now I explode of passion when I talk about my music and people can only be excited when they hear about it!

Honestly though, the biggest promotion has been spotify and Pandora… I’ve gotten emails from people all around the world telling me how much they love my music, or how it has affected them… My favorite emails are those where people ask where to find the sheet music for the pieces off my albums. It’s the biggest honor to receive any kind of emails of that nature.

Finally, do you have anything else that you would like to mention about yourself, your music, or anything else to our readers at NeuFutur?

Yes, one fun fact: I have the same birthday as Mozart (January 27th) … He’s a little older than I am though… haha

Dire Wolf Canis Mexicanus (Wolf's Ridge)

Canis Mexicanus is a spiced version of Wolf’s Ridge Russian Imperial Stout, Dire Wolf. The beer pours with a dark brown coloration and only the smallest in the way of head. The initial nose of Canis Mexicanus is heavy with chocolate and a hint of cayenne pepper. The first sip of the RIS will yield an assertive cinnamon, cayenne, and black coffee set of flavors. After a few moments to open up, Canis Mexicanus starts to yield sweeter (Mexican chocolate drink) elements. The spice does a tremendous job in hiding the considerable alcohol presence, along with making the effort’s mouth feel much heavier than it seems. Canis Mexicanus would be a perfect beer to sit and sip, but I feel that it would work well with strongly-flavored cuisine, nuts, and cheese. The stout is interesting as it uses vanilla differently than in any offering we’ve tasted. Where in many cases, the vanilla one tastes is the familiar sort of taste that one will experience in ice cream, there is a nuttier and more in-your-face expression of vanilla to be experienced in Canis Mexicanus.

One will be shocked at how consistent Canis Mexicanus is in regards to the overall flavor profile over the course of a session. Where the trend of many stouts is to become muddy at the final few sips, Canis Mexicanus is still able to strike strongly with spicy, sweet, and peppery elements during the final few sips from each 22 ounce bomber.

Dire Wolf Canis Mexicanus (Wolf's Ridge)

Dire Wolf Canis Mexicanus was available for a very limited time, but individuals may be able to find a few bottles kicking around locations in Columbus. If you find yourself downtown (215 N. 4th St), Wolf’s Ridge operates a restaurant and a taproom that have a wide array of different expressions from the brewery. Keep an eye on NeuFutur Beer for our coverage of Wolf’s Ridge’s Dire Wolf.

Purplehed - Feel The Passion

Purplehed’s Feel the Passion is a mid-tempo track that has a tremendous upswing as one gets into the chorus. The lighter elements are part of a chiaroscuro that is completed with an authoritative percussion line that is threaded through the cut. The ethereal vocals presented fans on Feel the Passion make this into a hot summer track. The video (linked below) does well in providing vibrant scenes and alluring visuals to further pump up the track. A lush production makes Purplehed’s Feel the Passion into something that could easily find its way onto dance charts around the world.

Smoke Season - Ouroboros EP

Loose is a scintillating alt-rock track that shines by virtue of a taut instrumentation and a set of vocals that link together the styles of Gwen Stefani and Bjork. Smoke Season is able to have a number of distinct threads running through the entirety of the track, but is ultimately talented enough to make everything work together in perfect harmony.

When The Smoke Clears immediately will catch listeners’ attentions through a unique challenge to time signatures. The track gradually shifts into a more low-key, funky affair that has a fun shift to Gabrielle’s vocals. As the vocals shift into a more ethereal, nearly-haunting style, the percussion provide the perfect counterpoint. A slower tempo establishes Emilia as another distinct chapter in Smoke Season’s biography. The vocals pull double duty here as they not only provide a narrative anchor for listeners but add to the overall harmonies established by the instrumentation. This organic sound crafted here does much to showcase to fans the sheer breadth of what Smoke Season brings to the table.

Santa Rosa is a darkly emotive track that has all the bravado of a Broadway production with the same laser-like focus paid by students of a master class. The raw fire in which the vocals are laid down here has no parallel, with this pinnacle giving up ground to the final track on the EP. Ouroboros ends with a stellar sub-minute outro that both ties up any loose ends that were scattered around on the previous songs as well as sets the stage for the follow-up to the release. Smoke Season tell as varied and voluminous of a story here in the course of 6 tracks that bands struggle to do on albums with twice the run time.

AV Super Sunshine "Baby Goodbye" (Hip Hop Remix)

AV Super Sunshine’s “Baby Goodbye” is a slinky, Compton-meets-trip hop track. The track has a powerful beat that will tattoo its melodies deep into the mind of listeners. The inclusion of the female vocals into the mix at points adds further depth to the composition. “Baby Goodbye” links together The Doors, Kid Rock, and Angie Scott into a delectable summer hit. By including such vibrant visuals, the video for “Baby Goodbye” is a required view; it provides fans with an entirely new context by which they can enjoy the single.

Is it Wise to Choose Conical Burr Grinder?

Coffee lovers want to have the best taste of coffee every time they take a cup of coffee. There are a lot of factors that vary the taste and having a conical burr grinder is one of them. Conical burr grinder can help you to have a fresh ground coffee of your choice in your home. Conical burr grinder grinds coffee from coarse to fine according to your requirement. In short, conical burr grounder is one little thing that can totally change the taste of coffee for you every time. Let’s discuss some advantages and disadvantages of buying a conical burr grinder.

Pros and Cons of Buying a Conical Burr Grinder

For the best understanding, you should know what are the advantages and disadvantages of a conical burr grinder. This will help you to purchase the best burr grinder among many.

Advantages:

  • When grinding, conical burr grinder does not cause any friction. Friction can cause to burn the coffee and the taste of coffee will be ruined. So, if you want the fresh and best taste, then burr grinder is the only choice.

  • The taste of coffee varies after 3 to 10 minutes of grinding because of the process of oxidization. If you will have a burr grinder, then you can enjoy the maximum taste with the cheerful aroma of coffee.

  • For those who are moody in tastes, a burr grinder is a great selection. You can control the size or coffee particles. For example, if you want Turkish coffee or Espresso, then you will need fine ground coffee. Similarly, if you want to make a coffee by the French press, then you will be needing coarse ground coffee. So, if you just consider these features, a conical burr grinder is the top choice for you to have.

  • There is no doubt that conical burr grinders are the best coffee grinders available in stores and markets. The intended users of burr grinder are either true lovers of coffee or shops where they sell ground coffee. This is the reason that manufacturers take it serious while researching and making burr grinders.

Disadvantages

  • Very first and well know disadvantage of burr grinders is that they are expensive. If you do not have a budget to buy a conical burr grinder or you do not take the taste very seriously, then you shouldn’t buy a burr grinder. You can just buy ground coffee from stores.

  • In the case you want Espresso, no every burr grinder is capable of grinding the accurate size. There are some specific burr grinders which can fulfil this requirement as you want. For example, Baratza’s product are well known for it.

After reviewing the pros and cons of a burr grinder, you can understand that burr grinders are the perfect bean grinders for flavourful coffee. Before buying any burr grinder, I will suggest you should research a little. There are online stores with reviews sections and ratings. You can research from there and ask from users about which burr grinder can complete your requirements and will work best for you.

Jordan Bennett - Outcasts and Untouchables

Stars at Night is a passionate pop-rock track that succeeds through Bennett’s emotive vocals and an instrumentation that provides highlighting at all the right points. The overall track is elegant in its design; drums, guitars, and Bennett’s vocals combine to tattoo a harmony deep into listeners’ minds. Nothing Without You continues to showcase the same raw emotion initially heard in Stars at Night. This single builds upon emotive rock, pop, and even praise music to make for something beautiful.

A Letter to a Friend needs little more than a guitar, bongos and Bennett’s vocals to make for the most touching effort on Outcasts and Untouchables. A sweeping instrumentation and soaring vocals unite to make a song that will touch anyone fortunate enough to listen in. The titular song on Outcasts and Untouchables is another hit for Jordan; the driving instrumentation stands in bold opposition to the more ethereal sound achieved by Bennett during this composition. The quicker tempo is perfect as it ensures that listeners will be on the edges of their seats for follow-up efforts.

Walk With Me to the Heavens is another highlight for Bennett on the album as the guitar/drum dynamic utilizes a different time signature than anything previously heard on the reason. By never settling in to a specific set of sounds, Jordan is able to create an album that will stand up to repeat listening in a way that few albums can. The Great Unknown succeeds due to a stellar narrative that is matched by a similarly dense and detailed set of arrangements. Jordan Bennett succeeds here as there is such great care in ensuring that each note fits in the larger work (song or album) perfectly.

Michael Todd - Crashland

Crashland, Michael Todd’s latest album, is an eclectic album that succeeds upon Todd’s desire to craft something special. A different set of influences make their appearances known with each track, meaning that hints of Neil Diamond, John Mellencamp, James Taylor and Johnny Cash can all be discerned over the course of the release.

The Cave is a solid introduction to Michael Todd, touching upon a great many of the twists and turns that fans will ultimately experience as they continue to listen to Crashland. See You in the Night will strike listeners to their very core. Michael’s vocals resound loudly over the track, while the guitar arrangements imbue upon the effort a timeless feeling. Hints of blues and folk can be picked up here, but what Todd does during Crashland is wholly unique – it’s hard to find any sort of genre convention that he easily fits into. French Fried Lady in Combat Boots has a tremendous narrative that is weaved through the effort. The tempo of the single swells up nicely, spinning the track (and the early registers of the album) in a bold new direction. The production of Big Ol’ Sky is delectable, allowing for a much more intricate sound to present itself. Fans will need to spin Big Ol’ Sky numerous times before hearing everything that Todd has placed deep within.

Specter Rises is an eye-opening effort placed late in Crashland. The track is one of our favorites. While the track has hints of blues and traditional country & western, the stellar guitar work here will make a fan out of anyone listening in. Michael Todd’s Crashland is one of the few albums that stay consistently strong from beginning to end.

Finding the Perfect Lesbian Woman: Sorting through the Incompatible

Online dating for lesbians can be a double edge sword. Some women have incredible success within the world of online dating and lesbian chat rooms while others report nothing but disappointment. Success appears to be highly tied to location, but also to technique, expectations and how you approach the game. Crafting the best profile possible that accurately reflects what you are looking for can go a long way.  If you truly want to meet lesbian women for dating and even something serious, follow these five simple rules!

Rule #1: Be Honest!

It is a waste of both your time and your potential partner’s time to fill your profile with lies and exaggerations. If you are going to meet each other eventually, everything will come out! After all, you do want to find someone who appreciates all aspects you, right? Be upfront about who you are, what you look like, what you enjoy doing, and what you are looking for in a woman.

Rule #2: Write About What You Would Want to Know

Having trouble figuring out what to put into that dreaded “about me” section? It is so hard to write objectively about ourselves. Try this, imagine you are a friend who is describing you, what would you say? Better yet, enlist a friend to help you put all of your positive attributes into words. Think about what you would like to read on another woman’s profile and go from there. What would you want to know about someone else?

Rule #3: Paint a Picture of Who You Are with Words

You want the person reading your profile to be able to imagine being with you. Describe your typical morning, explain why you love your hobbies so much and how you feel when you are immersed in them, share your passions and your life’s goals.

Examples:

“When I hit the trail on my morning hike, surrounded by nature and the sounds of the trickling creek and birds chirping, I feel at peace.”

“I enjoy my routine of leisurely waking up with a cup of rich dark coffee in one hand, and a newspaper in the other, with bacon sizzling on the stovetop.”

Women with similar rituals, hobbies, or goals will be instantly drawn to you in a way that they would not be when reading a profile with one-word answers to questions. They will be able to imagine themselves fitting into your world.

Rule #5: Don’t Skirt Around the Deal Breakers.

Clearly display your deal breakers, or must haves. Are you only open to dating women that fall within a particular age bracket? Does your ideal partner want to to have children? Is smoking non-negotiable? If anything is a deal-breaker for you, clearly state this. Try to phrase everything in a positive light if possible. Instead of “No smokers! Only women under thirty! If you don’t want children, move on!” try “I am searching for a lady of similar age to me (under thirty), who refrains from smoking, and who wants to start a family one day.” If negativity comes across in your profile, many readers will assume they will see frequent negativity in your personality as well.

If you follow these basic guidelines, your chances of success with lesbian online dating is incredibly high. Have fun, and good luck out there!

Finding the Perfect Lesbian Woman: Sorting through the Incompatible

Chubna (Oskar Blues)

Chubna is one of the tastiest efforts that we have received so far in 2016. The brew links together a sharp alcoholic nose with hops and more sweet-forward elements into an incredibly complex and fulfilling effort. The linking together of Old Chub (Oskar Blues’ scotch ale) with Gubna (their Imperial IPA) is already an interesting proposition, but the brewery has placed the resulting brew in Buffalo Trace barrels to impart a whole other set of notes into the effort.

The hot alcohol burn of Chubna is moderated well through a rich set of flavors, including dark fruits, brown sugar, whiskey, and vanilla. What results here has the perfect amount of hops to stave off the overly-sweet elements that are experienced in a number of high-octane imperial stouts and strong ales. This high ABV is perfect to keep the different twists and turns of Chubna constant through an entire stovepipe can. The initial burn never fully leaves Chubna, but it is this astringent element that keeps the beer fresh and interesting from the initial sip all the way to the concluding quaff. The slight bit of bitterness concludes this nicely, reminding imbibers throughout about the dominance of toffee, dark chocolate, and taffy elements. A 24 ounce stovepipe can is more than enough to begin and conclude a night nicely.

We have reviewed a number of Oskar Blues’ beers in the past; their Pinner IPA is a high-water mark for session IPAs, while Dale’s Pale Ale is refreshing and similarly dense in flavor; Death By Coconut still holds a place in our hearts as one of our favorite adjunct-based porters. Visit the Oskar Blues’ website for a full listing of the brewery’s year round and seasonal beers, while OB’s Facebook and Twitter will keep individuals up to date about new brews, events, and the latest from the brewery.

Why Are Online Degrees So Popular?

If you are looking to further your education, there could be a range of different factors which could be standing in your way. Those looking to go back to school to either obtain their first degree or study for a master’s degree to further their career can often find that actually enrolling in a program and studying is more difficult than they realize. However, studying online offers an easier and more flexible alternative. Online learning has offered individuals of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to further their education and careers from the comfort of their home.

Furthering Your Career

If you have already been to college and completed a degree, studying further for a master’s degree can help toward gaining a promotion at work or furthering your career. Some master’s degrees, for example the Master of Science in Nursing, which you can study online here, can help those with certain degrees take their first steps on a specific career path. However, many adults who work full-time can find it difficult to study while holding down a job. Online learning is designed to be flexible and easy to work around, making it the perfect choice for those looking to complete further education to better themselves.

Study from Home

Studying from home is a luxury of online learning which is not often afforded to those who enroll in traditional degree programs. Whether you are already working full time and don’t have full days to dedicate to studying or have a family you need to take care of, taking online classes such as a Master of Science in Nursing means that it can be easily tailored to fit around the other important commitments in your life. Those who work full-time or have children to look after often find an online degree option much more appealing, as they have the option to study in the evening or at other times during the day when they are free, rather than having to attend scheduled classes. The flexibility of online learning means it’s possible to not only complete your degree from the comfort of your home but also learn from wherever you are via a laptop, tablet or smartphone.

Lower Costs

Another reason many students are choosing e-learning courses such as the Master of Science in Nursing online program is that studying as an online student can often result in saving money. Universities which offer online courses often charge much lower tuition fees for their online students as there are fewer physical costs to cover. Along with that, online degrees will often include all required materials, saving students money when it comes to buying books. There is also no need to commute to classes, saving money on transportation.

It’s easy to see why online learning is becoming so popular among today’s students.
