Update On VEX's Memorious

Progressive Death/Black Metal Horde VEX have now set February 5, 2013 as the release date for their sophomore effort Memorious, instead of the previously announced January 1st unleashing.

This highly anticipated follow-up to the band’s 2010 full-length Thanatopsis will be released through Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.

Stay updated at www.facebook.com/vexhomepage.

In a review of the debut album Thanatopsis Grave Music said VEX “demonstrates an exceptional aptitude at constructing expertly arranged progressive death metal with blackened flourishes.” While those sentiments certainly describe Memorious as well,
the words “you ain’t heard nothin’ yet” also come to mind. Believe the hype.

Piano Lessons

Piano Teacher Los Angeles are hard to find in this day and age; be careful and pay a good wage. This means that while there are teachers in the general vicinity, they cost a premium due to the sheer amount of desire for their services. It is also incredibly hard to find a piano teacher that can actually teach younger individuals. There are a few services that are out there that will link teachers to their potential students. I would recommend going through each resume that you are provided, to ensure that the individual that you are looking to hire will be able to properly teach. For the Los Angeles area, one should expect to need to go through about 7 or 8 individuals before they find the right one. Make sure that you pick a teacher that can have real-world experience; while those that are right out of college are more than capable teachers, there just are a number of things and teaching styles that are only learned from real life experience. Make sure to bookmark any teacher websites that you may come upon, so that you can easily find them again whenever you decide to take a plunge with a teacher.

PTAHIL: Blackened Ministers Of Filth

Though the Mayans failed in their end-time predictions and apocalyptic prophecies, PTAHIL marches on in their quest for mass suffering and world demise with the infernal fruits of The Almighty Propagator Of Doom And Despair.

The seven-track follow-up to last year’s For His Satanic Majesty’s Glory — which Cvlt Nation commended for its conjuring of “nine songs that will sting you like the lash of the whip of your underworld master” — is a ritual casting to the forces of death, revolution and liberty, in acknowledgement of the continual entrapment of free essence into the chains of life through the force of the phallus.

Sazerac Rye 6 Year Old (90 Proof)

sazerac

Sazerac Rye is priced at around $25 (well below comparable offerings in the Rye Whiskey segment), and represents a great addition to one’s liquor cabinet. The Sazerac 6 Year Old Rye has a delightful bronze / copper color that invites individuals in, while the initial sip links together the unmistakable whiskey burn with a peppery, spicy afterburn. As one continues to sip, notes of cloves and vanillas moderate the bold opening flavors. The warmth initially experienced will continue through the entire session with the 6 Year Old.

Sazerac Rye shines regardless of the method by which one experiences it. This means that it represents a hearty shooting spirit just as well as it does in a whisky sour or a Mint Julep. I feel that placement of the Sazerac 6 Year Rye into a mixed drink will create a fresh and unrivaled experience for even the most well-trod drinks. Alongside the smoke and spice flavors, a thin, acidic edge weaves everything together into a cohesive experience. Each note, each aspect to the Sazerac works in tandem to make this cohesive experience; facets are assertive without overwhelming the whiskey.

Make sure to pick up a bottle of Sazerac Rye at your local well-stocked liquor store. The nuanced flavor and assertive character of this whiskey makes this spirit into a must-try. Be on the lookout for the other Sazerac / Buffalo Trace efforts, and check out their website for more information about their ranges.

About ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL:
As the world’s most famous outdoor electronic music festival, ULTRA has won “Best Music Event” by the International Dance Music Awards (IDMA) six consecutive years, from 2005 to 2011, “Best International Dance Music Festival” by the Ibiza DJ Awards in 2008 and “Best Festival” by the Village Voice Media New Times consecutively five years running from 2005 through 2009.  Originally created as a pure EDM (electronic dance music) festival in 1999, ULTRA has grown through the years to present not only the genre’s hottest, biggest and best headline artists (The Prodigy, Swedish House Mafia, The Chemical Brothers, Tiësto, David Guetta, deadmau5, Underworld, Kraftwerk, Armin van Buuren, Moby, Fatboy Slim, Justice, Carl Cox and Avicii to name a few), but also crossover headline bands that incorporate EDM elements in their music and have a history or new beginning in the EDM community and culture (The Cure, The Killers, New Order, Duran Duran, The Black Eyed Peas, Erasure, M83, Santigold, The Ting Tings, Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun and Bloc Party). In 2012, global pop icon Madonna appeared as a special surprise guest—the festival’s gift to their fans—to introduce the main stage final headlining artist AVICII, joining him behind the decks to premiere his UMF remix of her new single “Girl Gone Wild.”  The year also was the subject of CAN U FEEL IT, a major documentary feature about the festival which was shown in over 500 theatres nation-wide.  Together with its signature, cutting-edge productions, ULTRA is unrivalled by consistently presenting the world’s greatest, most diverse EDM line-ups year after year.

In 2013, as it celebrates its 15 year anniversary also with Swedish House Mafia for the final performances of their career together and Armin van Buuren and his A State Of Trance 600 Arena, ULTRA will become the first major EDM festival in the world to expand to two weekends with dates set for March 15, 16 and 17 and March 22, 23 and 24.

Get Rid of Bruxism - 5 Tips To Stop Now

Get Rid of Bruxism – 5 Tips To Stop Now

People take grinding or clenching teeth so lightly! Whether you are stuck in the traffic, having to listen to your boss rant at you even when you are right and other such times, you find yourself grinding your teeth in frustration.

Don’t just ignore this! This is not a matter to be taken lightly. Ignore and you will be left with crumbling tombstones for teeth. Take steps immediately to stop grinding your teeth before it becomes a habit and leaves your face disfigured with broken teeth, eternal headaches and jaw pain and other such problems. Here are the top 5 steps you should take to stop bruxism –

1. Use Stress Reducing Strategies – The major cause of teeth-grinding is stress and in today’s fast paced world, you won’t find anyone without stress. It is as if being stressed out has become a habit leading to bruxism.

Unless you want to have broken teeth, start managing stress. You can meditate, listen to music, work out, go for a walk or do anything that works for you. The point is to control stress and remain calm whatever the situation is.

2. Wear Mouth Guard For Teeth Grinding – Bruxism is an unconscious habit. You start grinding your teeth whenever you are in a stressful situation. And sometimes, things are so severe that you will be clenching you jaw and teeth when sleeping. How do you stop it? Use a mouth guard.

A mouth guard or night guard is a plastic dental fitting that helps the muscles of the jaw to relax and dissipate the effects of bruxism.

Alternatively, you can also use over-the-counter medication or rubs for your jaws that will reduce the jaw pain. Talk to your dentist and pharmacist for more information about a mouth guard.

3. Eat At Least 2 Hours Before Bedtime – Many people eat and go to bed immediately. This only aggravates bruxism. Instead, eat at least 2 hours before bedtime. Also, don’t consume alcohol, especially if it is late night. In addition, develop good eating habit. Don’t chew gums or your pen lids.

4. Stop Clenching Your Jaw – If bruxism has become a habit and you are trying to break it, you will still find that even though you are not grinding your teeth, you are clenching your jaw. This is more out of habit than any real reason. Make a conscious effort to relax the jaw muscles. Do facial exercises for relaxation of facial and jaw muscles.

If you find that you wake up headaches, swollen gums or have frequent jaw pains, then you need to talk to your dentist today. You may be suffering from bruxism. You may be taking medications for frequent headaches but the reason may actually be entirely different. Don’t let this silent condition get the better of you. Consult your dentist, especially if you find that you have worn out and loose teeth. Meanwhile, make sure that you stop stressing yourself.

Heavyweights (Blu-Ray)

Heavyweights is one of those modern classic comedies that deserves to be seen as being on the same level as Airplane or Animal House. The Blu-Ray edition of the film looks to introduce the film to an entirely different audience. For those that have not seen Heavyweights, the film surrounds a camp for larger children and the rift between the original owners and Tony Perkins (Ben Stiller). The film is able to stand on its own as a film that can be appreciated by adults and children alike. The Blu-Ray transfer of Heavyweights is absolutely stunning, ensuring that what viewers are watching is just as sharp (if not more so) than

Disney has included a number of different featurettes to further increase the value of the Blu-Ray release. This means that 30 scenes have been further fleshed out through the inclusion of deleted scenes, while the film itself soars on a stellar director’s commentary. Judd Apatow (director) shares stories and reminiscences about the filming of Heavyweights alongside Allen Covert, Steven Brill, and Aaron Schwartz (amongst a wide array of others). Disney has also included a Where Are They Now featurette, showcasing the lives and times of the children utilized in the film. The Making of… featurette is a vital view into the distant land that was the mid-nineties, while the video chat held between Apatow and Kenan Thompson is absolutely hilarious.

Disney has created an ultimate edition of Heavyweights that would be a perfect inclusion in any stocking or birthday gift. Make sure to pick up the title from any online retailer or video store.

CHAYANNE WRAPS UP 2012 IN STYLE

Despite his young age, after 30 years of delighting millions of people all over the world, Puerto Rico’s pop/tropical music icon Chayanne just keeps outdoing himself. And 2012 was no exception.

Alongside Marc Anthony and Marco Antonio Solís, he headlined the most talked-about concert tour of 2012, titled Gigantes (Giants). For this one-of-a-kind tour, each singer performs a solo set. Then, for the grand finale, the trio takes the stage together, while improvising, dancing, singing each other’s songs and engaging in Rat Pack-style banter.

It’s a beautiful demonstration of the synergy and chemistry between these artists who express their Latino charm and talent in their own unique way. The tour took them through 14 cities in the United States, plus top markets throughout Latin America.

Chayanne is also a major draw when touring solo, as his 2011 No Hay Imposibles (Nothing is Impossible) tour proved. This tour won the 2011 Billboard Latin Music Award for Latin Touring Artist of the Year and was preserved in his latest album, the live CD+DVD+Blu-ray A Solas Con Chayanne (Alone With Chayanne), which was released February 7, 2012, and recorded in Mexico City.

A Solas Con Chayanne features live versions of his greatest hits, including “Provócame” (Provoke Me), “Un Siglo Sin Ti” (A Century Without You), and his most recent chart-topper “Me Enamoré de Ti” (I Fell in Love With You), a theme song of the popular telenovela Corazón Salvaje(Savage Heart), which was broadcast in over 60 countries.

Earlier this month, Chayanne joined the distinguished list of Latin music luminaries who performed at the first annual Teletón USA, a 28-hour fundraiser that featured Latin music’s best artists supporting a universal cause – helping children with disabilities, cancer and autism.
Throughout his career, Chayanne has taken the initiative to get involved in non-profit and voluntary organizations that promote worthy causes.

He is an active supporter of the Make-a-Wish Foundation and a cabinet member of the American Red Cross.

Whether it’s embarking on a much-applauded concert tour, releasing a dazzling live CD+DVD, or helping a worthy cause, Chayanne shows us that when you’re a true “gigante” of music and you have a positive attitude, nothing is impossible!
By personal invitation of the President of Guatemala, Chayanne ends the year in style by today attending a ceremony to celebrate what the Mayan culture marks as the beginning of a new era. Tikal raises to the occasion to celebrate this epic event.

Metal Art

The sheer amount of art that can be made with those with capable hands is astounding. However, it seems that there has been a significant drop off in the quality of metal work that has been around the Ohio area. We have found a company that specializes in metal wall art. This company knows precisely what they are doing and tries to increase their skill with each subsequent piece that they take on. This means that they are more than happy to do metal wall art of different types and shapes, complex and simple. There is a decidedly unique flair to each of these pieces, no matter how much the cost of the item is. It honestly seems as if the company does their damnedest to make sure that what they release is unparalleled.  The amount of houses and apartments that can benefit from metal wall art is considerable; there is virtually no place, private or public, that would not be increased and made more beautiful through additional metal art. I content that metal-utilizing art is actually more interesting and unique than commissioning an artist to do a painting. The three-D aspect of metalwork just makes it stand out considerably better than other similar pieces of art. The next time you have some additional funds to tool out your house or place of business, give metal art a nice, long look. The prices that are provided on these websites are easily comparable (if not downright cheaper) than what other companies and artists would normally be charging. It is important to bookmark the website of any artists that do this type of art, as they will continue to further their education and create continually innovative and cutting-edge works. I know that we will look into buying some art of this style soon.

Moonlight Towers debuts “Distant Wheels” video

Austin-based band Moonlight Towers has released “Distant Wheels,” the latest single and video from its Day Is The New Night album via Austin’s NPR-affiliate KUT.  Check out the clip and download the track here: kut.org/2012/12/moonlight-towers-distant-wheels-2.

The video for “Distant Wheels” was directed by Huay-Bing Law. “He and cinematographer Taylor Washington contacted me out of the blue with a really cool concept for the video,” explains Moonlight Towers band leader, James Stevens. “They had a carnival set up in a field near Lockhart, Texas.  We had a small window to shoot – right at dusk.  We did thirty takes, with some after sundown for that day/night effect, and with the song played back at double speed, which gives the video a woozy look when played back. Things were tense, but it was exciting being on the sun’s schedule.”

“Distant Wheels” is just the latest track from Day Is The New Night to be released as a single.  The album has been going strong since it was released in April of 2011 when its initial single “Heat Lightning” was embraced by none other than E Street guitarist and “Sopranos” star, Little Steven Van Zandt.

Van Zandt named the track as his weekly “Coolest Song In The World” on his long-running SiriusXM radio show and channel, “Little Steven’s Underground Garage,” and went on to give the tune (and others from Day Is The New Night) lots of airplay over the following months, syndicated to stations around the world and heard by 1.2 million listeners a week.

“Heat Lightning” went on to be named as Van Zandt’s #12 “Coolest Song of The Year” and fans of the show and channel voted the song as their #9 “Coolest Song In The World” for the year.

Proclaimed “amazing” by Performing Songwriter for creating what the Chicago Reader calls “perfectly molded power-pop,” the members of Moonlight Towers are “Austin’s favorite three-minute heroes” according to the Austin American-Statesman.

WHY?'s Xmas song at Noisey

WHY? shares the video for their loosely Xmas-themed track “The Water You Walk” today via Noisey.  The song will appear as the B-side to the forthcoming “Waterlines” 7″ single. The band recently announced a ton of 2013 tour dates – see the full listing below.

About Mumps, Etc.

WHY? has at last unleashed their fifth long-player, a meticulous work of morbid fascination and offbeat romanticism dubbed Mumps, etc. Though there is a mysterious sickness (perhaps of the mind) that lurks about these thirteen songs, one might also imagine the title as describing the musically swole state of these three Midwestern men as they bring their sound into glisteningly buff focus. Yoni Wolf, brother Josiah and Doug McDiarmid are in the pocket, the unbreakable rock core at the center of a spinning ball of sonic kaleidoscopie. And all the things we love about them are still true: the grinning sun-warped choruses, that jangly Western lope, those confessionals cut with wry wit and crude details, set dancing down the odd knots of complex poetic daisy chains. It’s just that … well, all of it sounds better than ever this time around.

Part of that is due to how Mumps, etc. was made. Far from their native Cincinnati, the fellas spent a month and a half in the Denton, Texas, studio of Centro-Matic’s Matt Pence. They showed up with a pile of demos suspected to be nearly done-some five years in the making-but their aspirations evolved in the shadow of the great University of North Texas music school. Reaching out to a professor therein, they wrangled an ace crew of green-and-white gunslingers to exact their wild schemes: a string quartet, an eight-person choir, woodwinds, horns. The whole set was recorded to two-inch tape (no loops), produced by the Wolf brothers, and mixed in Atlanta by Graham Marsh (Cee Lo Green, Katy Perry) with Yoni. Thus every song pops exactly as it should, smearing genre with pointed intent until the end result became an articulated work of unusual artistry and catchiness-a WHY? record, naturally.

We’re not here to tell you what to like; the highlights are many. There’s the opener “Jonathan’s Hope,” rattling forth over a pile of cooing ladies and crunching percussion, its measured optimism leveled at the songs that follow. There’s “Waterlines,” which folds idyllic harps figures into a darkly shimmering beat while Yoni drops backwards brags-”Rocking soccer socks with sandals like, ‘Yeah, bro.’”-and dissects his public persona. “White English” bounces over some kind of mutant mariachi dub, a continuation of the coiled grooves WHY? devised for Serengeti’s Family & Friends (2011). “Thirst” bends Mumps‘ spare chamber-pop into a desert-worthy drawl, bullwhips cracking and spurs jingling under a tale about black cowboys and failing faith. And “Kevin’s Cancer”-written for an afflicted fan-hits upon a moment of WHY?-style clarity: “I know with no uncertainty, that I’m uncertain and I don’t know.”

Still, we are fairly certain that “Paper Hearts” is something extra special. Offering but a single two-and-a-half minute verse, the song is gorgeously detailed and surprisingly uncoded, unspooling as it goes a gut-wrenching end to an important relationship, and shining harsh light on a narrator who often likes to hide his truths in acts of on-album villainy. (“Bitter Thoughts,” featuring Liz Wolf, being a perfect example.) So when Mumps, etc. ends one track later, with Yoni promising providence over his own death while pizzicato strings brighten the closing corners, we understand both the sad futility and the unabashed hope wrapped up in that statement. And, along with the taut arrangements and imaginative musicianship, it’s that skewed but forever winking eye on the human condition that keeps us wrapped up in WHY?

Olga – North Mississippi Christmas EP (CD)

We Wish You A Merry Christmas is the star of the North Mississippi Christmas EP, as it deftly blends what listeners would expect from the track with a very down-home and comforting set of vocals. While the effort may spin to a close before the four minute mark, fans will be singing along long after it has ended. Deck The Halls is a solid inclusion for this EP, as Olga is able to add further harmony to the effort with her voice; pulling double-duty on this track adds further cohesion to this alluring track.

O Christmas Tree has a solid instrumentation that makes for a rich and dense experience despite the intuitively simple singer / acoustic dynamic. Hints of Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow, and Carole King can all be heard influencing Olga’s inimitable voice.  It Came Upon The Midnight Clear is an impressive track in the dust-swept style in which it is couched; the momentum that Olga enjoys during this track makes for one of the North Mississippi Christmas EP’s strongest efforts. I feel that the instrumental and vocal sides to the track push each other to higher plateaus.

Few musicians take Christmas or holiday albums seriously; the resulting tracks on these releases are more or less the same versions that listeners have been hearing every Christmas. Olga is able to add some serious soul to these tracks, and in doing so, makes for a completely new experience out of old chestnuts. This ensures that the North Mississippi Christmas EP has considerable replay value for even lesser fans of the holiday. Check out Olga’s website for more information about her live dates, new recordings, and for further information.

Tucson sludgetroopers GODHUNTER recently wrapped-up filming a self-financed video for their crushing anthem “Wolves Of The North.”

After making its initial appearance on the band’s 2011-released Wolves EP, more recently “Wolves Of The North” reared its ugly head on GODHUNTER’s self-released split 7” with hometown cohorts Inoculara. Stillness: A Collection (CD)

Stillness: A Collection is an absolutely stellar collection that allows individuals to be sent away on a dreamy and austere journey through the minds of some of the greatest current composers on the scene. More importantly, this CD allows listeners to find tracks and performers that they like, so that they may purchase other releases from their discographies. We have reviewed a few tracks on Stillness: A Collection in previous coverage, but the deft arrangements of these tracks provide a considerably context than would normally be had.

Stillness: A Collection begins with Rajendra Teredesai’s Essence of Light; the track is a microcosm of styles and influences, all couched in a very solemn and reflective work. The six-plus minute run time would typically be on the long side for an introductory composition, but Teredesai keeps listeners interested through a very personal arrangement. Calling Wisdom (Karunesh) and Enchanted Forest (Kenio Fuke) possess a tremendous synergy. Karunesh has more of a contemporary, world-weary starkness that is diametrically opposed by the earthy, loamy feel of Fuke’s effort.

Teach Me to Whisper (Liquid Mind) sets off the wide expanses of the final third of Stillness: A Collection. Taken alongside Frank Steiner, Jr.’s Sparks of Love, Teach Me to Whisper will have listeners deep in introspective. Teredesai’s closing effort, Mystery of the Eternal, is the perfect bit of clarity to conclude this release. Compilations are typically nothing to write home about, but Real Music has breathed new life into a great many of their most memorable musicians and compositions. Make sure to pick up a copy of this disc today.

CENTURIAN Debut New Song - "Judas Among Twelve"

Dutch death metal mongers CENTURIAN have debuted a new track from their forthcoming third album, Contra Rationem.

The song, entitled “Judas Among Twelve,” has been posted as a promo video at
this location. This is CENTURIAN’s first offering of new material in 11 years. Contra Rationem is slated for a 2013 release via Listenable Records.

Main songwriter Rob Oorthuis commented on his vision about the authenticity, core and strength of the new album :

Contra Rationem is an adversive record in the broadest sense of the word. It lacks all the ethics of contemporary productions. Leaving only the dynamic range of decay and rats exploring your skeleton. Through the rattle of bones…One might even hear flesh on instruments. We keep our death metal under-produced. All songs were nailed with conviction, without hesitation, in one take. Guided only by tongues of fire descending upon our heads. Uncorrected. As real as we are not.”

Storm The Castle! – The Free of Charge! Demo (CD)

stormtheca_thefreeof

I had little clue what to expect when I first slid this disc into my player. A style that would work perfectly upon the disc of all the major emo bands first assaults listeners during “Where is my Crossbow?”, to which a set of vocals that seem ill-fitting soon are added. After a minute or two to get acclimated to the disc, it is not that the vocals are bad, but that they are influenced by an entirely different tradition. The vocals, as well as the guitars, seem to be drawing on an eighties metal tradition even as there seems to be an emo and dance-punk feeling to Storm the Castle! that flitters through the entirety of this demo.

If there is one thing that Storm The Castle! can use as a tag, it is that they blend together a diverse array of acts and genres to come with a sound that is purely their own. The first track on this disc may only be a little over four minutes, but so many things are happening during this track that individuals feel as if the band has embarked on a delightful, ten-minute long epic with “Where is my Crossbow?”. The later tracks on this demo are all much longer than “Where is my Crossbow?”, a good thing considering “Firebreathing Sympathy Machine” comes out of the gates with a style that is straight (early) Danzig. The guitars soon normalize to come up with a style that individuals have heard previously, but are a blend of virtuosic and compelling riffs that work perfectly with the Jim Morrison-esque vocals present on this track. There are just so many things to hear during “The Free of Charge!” demo that individuals should not be satisfied with only one or two listeners.

The production is at a level where individuals can hear every level of the band, and Storm The Castle! has ensured that each second of this album is chock-full of sounds. By the end of the disc, individuals still have no clue where they should put Storm The Castle! if they were given a list of genres. Simply put, Storm The Castle! is a classic metal, emo and rock band, a spastic blend of their influences that ultimately comes out to be something that is greater than the sum of its constituent parts. Regardless of what music you like, get a copy of this disc!

JAVEN releases new single “Worshiper In Me”

“Worshiper In Me” is a great lead single for his 2013 release Worship In The Now, which he describes as more than a project, but a movement.

Penned by JAVEN and Jonathan Nelson, “Worshiper In Me” is a transparent worship song which lyrically and musically grabs your attention with its authenticity.

It’s lyrics to speak directly to the open, willing and submitted heart to come forth as a true worshiper of Christ.

As a singer, songwriter and worship leader, JAVEN through his own heart of submission, calls the worshiper to come forth through the lyrics, “With everything I have, I’m here finally; I’m calling forth the Worshipper in Me!”

As the song builds with intensity, JAVEN speaks directly to God laying it all on the line with the lyrics, “Freely I give you all of me, I give you my worship, my heart, my soul! I live and breathe you God, I live to give you Glory!”

One of the significant elements that stands out in “Worshiper In Me” is its common thread of worshiping God no matter who you are or where life has taken you.

JAVEN defines Worship and the core of the new single, “Worship is one of the most powerful weapons we possess to get through tough times. Many people forget to pull on the worshiper inside of them. I wrote this powerful song with my good friend Jonathan Nelson. I think it’s the anthem for every believer facing hard times. Call forth the worshiper in you and see the power it will unleash on the enemy!”

Taylen Interview

Hello, Taylen. How is everything going today?

Im very good thank you.

What were the influences that inspired you and your music?

Well this is a funny topic. Most of my songs aren’t from personal experience. I write songs based on a movie or a book. I look at situations that someone else has created and I try to put it into my own words. And make my own story off that. But since I watch a lot of romance movies, most of my songs revolve around love. And also listening to other artists helps me learn about how to structure a song. So I am aware of my surroundings, and write about them.

What inspires you to create music, and what has happening in your life during the creation of the Masque EP?

My biggest inspiration is dreaming of being on stage. When I see other artists concert DVD’s it gives me this butterfly effect where I would love to experience, and that motivates me to work harder so that I can get there. And when I was making ‘Masque EP’ my life was about the music. There are only 4 songs, but I didn’t want to use just anything, so it was a process. So I started homeschooling to focus more on my music.

Bonnie and Clyde is your latest single. How have listeners reacted to the song?

Listeners seem to always ask how someone my age knows about Bonnie & Clyde, but again its because I see movies and other artists. But so far I have had positive comments and people seem excited to see the video coming out in December 2012.

You’re an Australian artist. What is different about music between Australia and the United States?

The main difference is that the United States has a much bigger market. The industry professionals are located more in the U.S. The music does comes down under, but to get recognized there is more chances in the U.S.

What should listeners expect from your debut full length album?

Listeners should expect that I wont limit myself. If I feel that a song represents me, I will share it. I want the album to be a way for people to connect with me and understand who I am as a person and artist. And to expect fun songs, serious songs and the ever famous topic, a love song.

Are there any plans for tour dates in the United States? In a related sense, what has been your most memorable time here?

At the moment there are no dates set in stone, but I hope that 2013 will bring some big things. My most memorable time in the U.S would be going to an award show because Bonnie & Clyde was nominated. And filming Bonnie & Clyde, it was something that I didn’t expect would happen so smooth. And it was a lot of fun.

How should readers get in contact?

Readers can get in contact but following me on twitter “TaylenDelgado10”, subscribing to my YouTube “TaylenDelgado10”, liking my Facebook page “Taylen” and I have a fan email address which is officialtaylen@gmail.com

Finally, do you have any final thoughts for NeuFutur Magazine / neufutur.com ?

Thank you for this opportunity and of course thanks to my fans across the world!  I love you all!

Superhuman Happiness' 'How To Survive A Plague' Score

Since its recent release, the feature-length documentary film ‘How To Survive A Plague‘, accompanied by its compelling original motion picture score performed by Superhuman Happiness (with special guests Kronos Quartet), has been moving audiences nationwide. The documentary goes behind the scenes of the groundbreaking work of HIV/AIDS coalitions ACT UP and TAG (Treatment Action Group) in the 1980s. The music accompanying the above vignette, which just premiered on Huffington Post’s Gay Voices, is described by composer/musician Stuart Bogie of Superhuman Happiness as an “urgent piece that was written to reflect the dire circumstances, the fragility of life, and the tenderness of the home treatment.” Proceeds from the soundtrack, which was released December 4, will benefit the Student Global AIDS Campaign.

In addition to the score, Superhuman Happiness will release their first full-length album, Hands, out March 5, 2013, on The Royal Potato Family. The relentlessly creative band whose sound has been dubbed “physical cinematic dance rock” has crafted an LP that runs the gamut from celebratory syncopated handclaps (“Our Favorite Part”) to the coronation grandeur of church bells (“Second Heart”), from art-pop dance beats (“See Me On My Way”) to math rock angularity (“Half Step Grind”).  The lyrics to Superhuman Happiness songs come at you in a flurry of pop sensibility, but lean metaphysical, peppered amid the vastness of cinematic layers of instrumentation. Guitarists Luke O’Malley and Ryan Ferreira trade highlife picking and revving power chords as Nikhil Yerawadekar’s ropey bass lines weave and bob through the pulsing beats issued from Miles Arntzen’s drum kit. Waves of sound issue from Jared Samuel‘s array of analog keyboards and lush accents from Eric Biondo‘s playful harmonies. Stuart Bogie’s horns—abetted by long-time collaborator Colin Stetson—round out Hands’ multi-dimensional sound.

Superhuman Happiness became known in Brooklyn for ecstatic dance parties at the famed club Zebulon where they’d often improvise extended versions of their songs. The band’s reputation further grew upon touring nationally with artists like Rubblebucket, Marco Benevento and Red Baraat. Prior to their forthcoming full-length debut, Superhuman Happiness released an EP and a series of 7-inch singles, while collaborating with Cults on the Red, Hot & Rio 2 compilation. Its members are all key NYC players with a collective resume that stretches across a dizzying array of talent, including Antibalas, Phenomenal Handclap Band, TV On The Radio, Iron & Wine, tUnE-yArDs and Martha Wainwright among numerous others. It’s together, however, where their individual voices coalesce into one shared vision. As Hands so vividly expresses, this is music striving for Superhuman Happiness.

Catch Superhuman Happiness when they hit the road for select dates. More shows coming soon.

“Bronson has it all. Story would be perfect for a train ride from a failed relationship into a new life.” – My Old Kentucky Blog

Following up the single and video for “The Turns” (recently debuted at Under The Radar), Brooklyn-based David Bronson has teamed up with producer Godfrey Diamond (Lou Reed, Sparks, Glen Campbell) for “Momentary,” the next track from his Story album, set for release in the UK on January 7thStory is one half of a twenty-two song cycle entitled “The Long Lost Story,” which has been divided into two albums, Story and The Long Lost, with the latter set for release further into 2013.

‘Momentary’ is a special song to me personally because it’s the one song on the two records that was co-written by my brother Jeremy,” says Bronson.  “The song went through a number of incarnations. I threw away the original verses, because, at the time, I thought they weren’t honest enough to support the chorus, which is a message that I acutely needed to hear when I wrote it: ‘Soon enough this too will only be one more memory.’”

For the “Momentary” music video, Bronson says, “I wanted to do a ‘lyric’ video, but something more interesting than just the album cover with the words over it. I wrote out a rough outline, and I literally found illustrator David Sparshott by Googling the word ‘illustrator.’ I was just really drawn to his style and I’m thrilled with his interpretation.”

David Bronson’s Story will be released in the UK on January 7th. The album’s singles and videos for “Momentary,” “The Turns,” and “Times” are streaming now.  David Bronson is available for interviews.  Contact Josh Bloom at Fanatic for more information.

Daniel Hope Returns to New York This Week for Several Special Collaborations

The New Yorker has proclaimed “Christmastime is Daniel Hope time in New York” as the violinist returns to the city this week to present Baroque treasures in guises both traditional and contemporary. Hope marks the recent release of his Deutsche Grammophon album Vivaldi Recomposed, which was named Best Classical Contemporary Album of 2012 by iTunes, by performing its bold reimagining of The Four Seasons by British minimalist Max Richter at the Greenwich Village club Le Poisson Rouge on December 19 and 20. In a more traditional vein, on December 22, the violinist joins the dynamic young Salomé Chamber Orchestra to play Bach concertos at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Hope will play the concert on the “Baltic” Guarneri del Gesù of 1731, one of the great instruments of the Sau-Wing Lam Collection of Violins, selections of which are currently on view at the museum.

At Le Poisson Rouge on December 19 and 20, Hope will be performing Vivaldi Recomposed alongside Richter and Ensemble LPR, with the concert presented by Poisson Rouge in association with Wordless Music. Reviewing a recent performance of Vivaldi Recomposed at the Barbican in London, the Guardian newspaper enthused over the work’s fresh sound, saying: “The glacial string harmonics that surround Vivaldi’s pretty rococo melody in the slow movement of Winter turn it into something far richer and stranger than the original.” The review added that Hope’s solo violin part was “delivered with spirit.” Expressing his own enthusiasm for Richter’s work, the violinist said the composer has reimagined Vivaldi’s masterpiece “through 21st-century eyes and ears.” In addition, on December 18, Hope, Richter and Ensemble LPR will perform selections from the work at the SoHo Apple Store in New York at 7pm. The performance will also include a Q&A segment hosted by Jeff Spurgeon of radio station WQXR.

At the Met Museum on December 22, Hope will be the featured soloist in Bach’s Violin Concerto in A minor, BWV 1041, a work he recorded to acclaim on his all-Bach album released by Warner Classics in 2006. He will also be joining the Salomé Chamber Orchestra in performing Bach’s Triple Concerto in D Major, BWV 1064 and the Brandenburg Concerto No. 3. The “Baltic” Guarneri del Gesù of 1731 that Hope will be playing is part of the Sau-Wing Lam Collection of Violins, a selection of which will be on view in the Metropolitan Museum’s André Mertens Galleries for Musical Instruments from December 18, 2012 through June 30, 2013.

Directly preceding the concert with the Salomé Chamber Orchestra, Mr. Hope will join the adventurous string quartet ETHEL at the ensemble’s weekly performance at the Met Museum’s Balcony Bar for Bartók duos, holiday tunes, and a surprise or two.

The next DG album from Hope, to be released in early 2013, is Spheres. The album’s repertoire celebrates the idea, first brought forward by Pythagoras, that planetary movement creates its own kind of music, a concept that has fascinated philosophers, musicians and mathematicians for centuries. The selections range from Bach and Fauré to Arvo Pärt, Michael Nyman, as well as up-and-coming composers who have written new works for Hope based on the idea of spherical music, or “musica universalis.” These include Gabriel Prokofiev, Ludovico Einaudi, Alex Baranowski and Aleksey Igudesman.

SMT: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers Announced for North America on 3DS

ATLUS, a brand of Index Digital Media, Inc., announced today that Shin Megami Tensei®: Devil Summoner®: Soul Hackers is set for an official release in North America this coming Spring 2013, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS™ handheld. Developed by ATLUS and originally released for the Sega Saturn system in Japan back in 1997 and for the PlayStation system in 1999, Soul Hackers will make its debut in North America with a variety of new gameplay features, enhancements, and a full English localization.  A new teaser trailer is now available for fans to get a glimpse of this stunning game: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIvMsK9vwFI

Soul Hackers delivers a first-person, dungeon-crawling RPG experience set in a future where technology and otherworldly forces meet in a macabre fusion of cyberpunk futurism and gothic horror. A first-person sci-fi RPG epic, Soul Hackers tells of a city held up as a beacon of humanity’s triumph of technology, but with an infernal secret. In this would-be utopia, a group of hackers takes on a centuries-old mystic society, and a battle for control over humanity’s fate is about to begin.

In the classic tradition of Shin Megami Tensei, players will have the compelling choice throughout their dungeon exploration to fight the enemy demons they encounter, or negotiate with them in an attempt to turn them into allies and teammates.  Soul Hackers on 3DS includes access to 30 additional demons, a new opening animation movie and theme song, improved controls, and quicker loading times.  Additionally players can use the 3DS’ bottom screen as an auto-mapping function, and engage a COMP hack to change difficulty levels on the fly and fill out maps without walking through.  After clearing the game initially, the 3DS version of Soul Hackers also delivers an extra dungeon, where players will witness the appearance of Raidou Kuzunoha from the previous Devil Summoner games.

“Soul Hackers’ first-week debut at number two among all titles in Japan is a testament to the continuing quality and popularity of the Shin Megami Tensei series, suggesting a bright future on the 3DS,” said Tim Pivnicny, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, ATLUS.  “With the vast array of new features, content, and extensive localization, this long-awaited release will be even more exciting for fans in North America.”

Those expecting an exhaustive memoir or even a semi-complete bio on the Red Headed Stranger are out of luck with this latest book by the country legend. Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die is exactly as stated in the subtitle, a collection of musings.

Everything from one-off fleeting thoughts and bad jokes, to political views and thoughts of his family and friends are collected in the slim, but highly entertaining collection. Far from being an easy man to pin down, Nelson speaks about how he first discovered weed, bio diesel and paradise in both Texas and Hawaii. It’s actually remarkable how much is revealed in so few pages.

A hero to both liberals and rednecks alike, Nelson’s latest is definitely worth owning for any longtime fan. Those looking for a more detailed bio on Nelson should check out Joe Nick Patoski’s Willie: An Epic Life… then come back to Roll Me Up.
