THE TWO MAKING THE C.R. ECKER BAND MOVE FORWARD

m and c 3

The first time Charles Ecker and Michael Stanton worked together was when Stanton sang  Ecker’s tender love ballad, “When God Created You.”  That song is now in final contention for “2013 Song of the Year” at Independent Music Network breaking a record of six straight months on the Top 30 Countdown.

Both have just co-written two new country love songs – “No Turnin’ Back” and “One More Night with You ” featured on Renegade Radio Nashville, the world’s largest Country internet music station and aired over 1,000 more outlets globally.

Says Ecker: “We like what we write and hope others will too. That’s our criteria. Our confidence comes from a deep appreciation for the art and craft of songwriting.”

And in Stanton’s case, he has a distinguished musical career as a performer, writer and music producer for television and film commercials.

Start with appearances with Country legends such as George Strait, Kenny Rogers, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, as well as the late John Denver.  And, of special note, Stanton taught  John Schneider  (“The Dukes of Hazzard”) how to sing country music and produced and wrote his first country album on Scotti Brothers Records.  Schneider went on to have six #1 singles.

One of L.A.’s  top session singers,  Stanton’s voice was featured in many TV shows including “Happy Days,” “Knight Rider,” “Miami Vice” and “Murder She Wrote.”  His film work includes “Minority Report,” “Mulan,” “Diggstown” and “The Treasure of Painted Forest,” which he wrote, produced, starred in and composed the music.

Add numerous advertising awards for his many television commercials for clients such as Coors, Coca-Cola, Ford and GM.

You might recognize Stanton  as “Agnes,” the blond mustached star of Bud Light’s longest running  (13 spot, seven year)  ad campaign – ‘Ladies Night.”  Guest spots on the “Tonight Show”, “Regis” and hundreds of other live performances including five Super bowls and five NCAA Final Fours.  And he recorded a CD as “Ladies Night” while producing and directing a music video, “You Can Keep Your Boots On,” named Americas  #1 Dance Club Video of 1999.

But what is now a common bond for Stanton and Ecker, who cut his teeth on music at what was The Los Angeles Songwriters Showcase, is composing country music that will be appreciated for its appeal to heartland Country fans, a number that grows more each day.
