In light of the recent flood disaster in Colorado, BIG GIGANTIC is teaming up with local friends, artists and organizations to benefit flood relief efforts. The recent data on the severe impact of the flooding is astounding. As of now, 17,494 homes have been damaged, 1,502 homes have been destroyed, 11,700 people have been evacuated, 1,253 people are still unaccounted for, 8 people have lost their lives and 520 are in emergency shelters. This is a very serious and pressing concern for Colorado residents and it is something we all need to come together on.
BIG GIGANTIC will be playing an already scheduled two‐night run in Colorado with a show at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, Colorado on Friday, September 27 followed by Rowdytown II at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado on Saturday, September 28. Both of these shows will be Flood Relief Benefit Shows. The band and promoters will be giving a portion of the proceeds from both shows to Conscious Alliance‘s flood relief fund, which is set to help provide basic necessities to community members affected by the floods. Conscious Alliance will be on site at the Fillmore and Red Rocks, collecting food and monetary donations as well as new or lightly used clothing, cleaning and household items. At this time, pasta meals & canned meats are the most requested food items – organic options are always encouraged. The most requested personal & household items are toiletries, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
Both members of BIG GIGANTIC will join Conscious Alliance outside of The Boulder Theater this Sunday, September 22 from 2:00 PM–4:00 PM, where they will be selling no service fee tickets for their Friday, September 27 Fillmore show, taking donations for Flood Relief and signing up volunteers for a BIG GIGANTIC Cleanup Day, the specifics of which will be released as relief organizations communicate their need for physical volunteers.
BIG GIGANTIC will be making this a true Colorado family affair. On top of proceeds donated from both BIG GIGANTIC and Live Nation, local artists and organizations will be donating merchandise, tickets, art and more for a silent auction at the Fillmore Auditorium, with proceeds directly benefitting Colorado flood victims.
Colorado is the birthplace and home of BIG GIGANTIC. The band is dedicated to using this opportunity to give back to a place that has given them so much, so please come together and help make a BIG GIGANTIC difference.
