ICE NINE KILLS ‘The Predator’ debuts at #9

ICE NINE KILLS’ latest EP The Predator reached #9 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and #38 on the Independent label chart with first week sales of 1,476 copies.

The Predator EP was only available digitally and through their MerchNow store, and was funded by the band’s recently fulfilled Kickstarter campaign, which raised more than double their initial $10,000 goal (500 backers contributed $21,258 total funds).  Additionally, The Predator was #15 on the iTunes rock chart and was Revolver Magazine’s ‘album of the week.’

ICE NINE KILLS recently severed their relationship with Red Blue Records, and self financed a full-length album. Prior to the All Stars Tour (Suicide Silence, Unearth, The Word Alive) the band released a cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You” which was incredibly well received.  They followed that up by recording 10 songs for a full length. Under advisement from manager Mike Mowery (Outerloop Management) the band decided to leverage the support of their exceedingly loyal fan base and release an EP. The Predator EP contains 4 songs from the previously mentioned recordings as well as the Adele cover. The single “What I Never Learned in Study Hall” features Tyler Carter of Issues. An acoustic version of “What I Never Learned in Study Hall” was released on Take Action Volume 11.

Vocalist Spencer Charnas is extremely pleased with the sales of the The Predator EP and the dedication of the band’s fan base. Charnas says, ” Our incredibly loyal fans continue to impress us in every way possible. From literally funding this recording to landing us on the charts, they have yet to let us down. We cannot thank them enough for their unwavering support.”

Mike Mowery states, “This is a band that has an incredibly dedicated fan base. From the time they mobilized them to win the online voting for the All Stars Tour last year, I knew they had the capacity to achieve this. Having done a few other Kickstarter campaigns before, we knew that the incentives would make or break the campaign. If done right, and the fans are truly being rewarded, Kickstarter is an incredible tool. We worked long and hard to ensure that each incentive was worth far more than what the band was asking. This is a band that cares deeply about their fans, and their fans care deeply about them. With the excitement built from this EP, the band is now in a position to be signed by an established, respected label.”

The band has toured extensively since the All Stars Tour last year (supporting We Came As Romans, Abandon All Ships, Norma Jean, Atilla and Like Moths to Flames) and has a number of tours lined up (I See Stars, For All Those Sleeping, Capture The Crown and South By So What.)

The band will enter the studio in April to record their next full-length album.
