Black Tie Rave: New Auction On Feb. 28th, the Swedes will hold a Black Tie Rave charity event at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom. The first round of tickets were auctioned off in December and with under a third of the tickets sold, an astonishing $437,000 was raised for the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City and Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund in support of hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Swedish House Mafia have just announced that the second auction will take place on Feb. 1st at 10am EST at www.ticketmaster.com. The new auction will benefit Save The Children, the world’s leading independent organization for children, who will join the national dialogue on gun control, the provision and availability of mental health services, and violence in society in the wake of the school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut on Dec. 14th. Save The Children’s goal is to use their experience in advocacy, their seven decades of serving poor and vulnerable children in the U.S., and their commitment to children’s protection and rights to inform and influence both the dialogue and the policies that will emerge as the nation addresses issues that have a direct impact on the safety, security and well-being of its citizens—especially children. Starting bid is $100.00 per ticket and fans can purchase a minimum of 2 tickets and maximum of 4 tickets. More info available at www.blacktieraave.com. In addition anyone on the guest list for the U.S. tour will be asked to donate and optional $10.00 at the door for Save The Children. “During the process of planning the Black Tie Rave, the Newton tragedy happened and we decided that as we had already raised more money than we had hoped for, that we would add Save The Children to the list of charities who will benefit from this event. Their work helping children who have suffered violence of all kinds is incredible and it felt right to bring them into what fundraising efforts we can achieve through this tour,” said Swedish House Mafia. It’s also confirmed that Pete Tong will fly in to support Swedish House Mafia at this special event along side Carl Kennedy! “During the process of planning the Black Tie Rave, the Newton tragedy happened and we decided that as we had already raised more money than we had hoped for, that we would add Save The Children to the list of charities who will benefit from this event.
