Sydney Rock Outfit STRANGERS Confirmed SXSW & Offering FREE Track

Hailing from the southern beaches of Sydney, Strangers are ready to make their waves in the U.S. The rock group who PUSH TO FIRE says “grabs your attention from the get-go,” Strangers are officially confirmed for this year’s SXSW. Their debut LP Persona Non Grata, recorded and produced by Tom Larkin (Shihad, The Getaway Plan, Calling All Cars), delivers on the promise that has made Strangers such an interesting prospect. Capturing the band’s heavy swing and dual guitar, high octane rock ‘n roll attack, the album is an impressive opening salvo from one of this nation’s most exciting new bands. Persona Non Grata debuted at #65 on the main ARIA chart and at #9 on the AIR chart (Australian indies chart).
The band has risen rapidly since their inception in 2010. Featuring Ben Britton (vox), Mark Barnes (lead gtr), Benny K (gtr), Tristian Griffiths (bass), and Timmy Hansen (drums), the quintet immediately captured attention across the nation via killer Triple J powered singles “Red Brick” and “Bred For Breeding.” With a live ethic that is matched only by the intensity of their music, Strangers are destined to offer salvation for rock-starved punters across the country.
The video for Persona Non Grata, the lead single and title track from the album will be COMING SOON. Produced and directed by Natalie Van Den Dungen whom most recently directed The Persecution Blues: The Battle For The Tote, along with clips for the likes of Children Collide, Wagons and Seeker Lover Keep amongst others.
For STRANGERS, there’s no real answer as to why they’ve chosen music to be their religion. Mark Barnes, the impressively mustachioed guitarist elaborates ‘We all grew up loving the fuck out of bands and live music. Whether it was Motorhead, Black Flag or any number of killer local bands, it didn’t matter. We were at the shows then and we’re still at the shows now. The only thing that’s changed is we’re now adding our particular brand of rock’n’roll to the legacy we love
