Fireman’s Brew is a new microbrewery that loves to go and put some polish on familiar beer offerings, meaning that there is a blonde (Pilsner), brunette (doppelbock) and a redhead (Red/Amber ale) offering that the company currently brews. The Fireman’s Brew Blonde is an effort to expand upon the American lager format, the brew of choice for many of the titular fire men and women that are currently serving. Fireman’s brew creates the pilsner with a little bit more substance than what is typically carried at a local bar – there is a crispness to the opening sip.
There is a slightest bit of hop flavoring present that goes and provides a more nuanced and intricate taste than other efforts in the style. The Brunette is something toasty, malty, and fulfilling – the beer has twists and turns that will appease fans of the style and increase their pallets at the same time. The Redhead provides a much-needed refreshing of the Irish red style, with a malt-forward base and just hints and snippets of hoppy, ale elements – the beer is refreshing an dwarming at the same time, refreshing the taste buds of individuals with each subsequent bottle that is finished.
What results with the Fireman’s Brew Blonde is something that is eminently drinkable without being overly hoppy or cereal tasting. Fireman’s Brew also has released their own soda line (containing a Black Cherry, Root Beer, and a Cream Soda) and crafts their own coffees (a Three Alarm/caffeinated blend and False Alarm / noncaffinated blend). Make sure to visit Fireman’s Brew website for more information about their beers, their non-alcoholic efforts, and any other additional news that the company may release through the end of 2014 and into the beginning of 2015.

LO FI LiMO Interview
Promises is your debut album. How happy are you with the title? What is your favorite songs off of the album?
I’m very happy with the title because it’s the Anthem of my life right now. Many promises that have been put inside of me are finally being fulfilled, and This new Lo-Fi Limo record was one of those! The whole album is an expression of the Highs and Low’s of the experiences I’ve been through before, and during the making of this album.
My favorite song on the record would have to be “Long way home”. It’s a love song written for my wife, but also about my creator (God). I’m very happy with the way the lyrics and the vocal melodies tied together so beautifully.
Which genres and performers most influenced you during the creation of the tracks on your album?
I listened to all of my favorite bands during the making of the album, and would have to say it was an equal mix of all of them. The top primary influences are, Foo fighters, Jimmy eat world, Third eye blind, Lenny Kravitiz, Velvet Revolver , Plankeye and Bleach.
How supportive is the SoCal rock scene?
It all depends on how much exposure your music has to this microculture. If you’re a newbie, it’s VERY tough to even get into pre-sale type of show to start building your fan base. But once you’re established yourself with your local scene, fans tend to stick with you and support you the whole way. It helps to have great music and an even better sounding album, followed by lot’s of online presence, (good music video, .com’s, and any other social media) to help get your neck above all of the noise of all the other artists trying to make it out here.
Briefly describe for us the process of grouping the tracks on Promises. How does it compare to a theme album, and how do you move from initial thought to recording the track?
It’s somewhat amazing how well the songs tied into each other during the writing and recording of this album, being that my only vision for the album was to express all that was inside of me during this season. It was a real divine orchestration of events, followed by creative writing/recording that allowed this album to come together in the way that it did.
What is your recording setup (hardware and software)? What devices/programs would you ultimately like to utilize in the future?
Neotek/Universal/Audio/Console mic pres into Apogee converters then into Protools 9. Akg, Sennheiser, Shure, Cascade and Vintage CAD mics make up most of the drum mics, then AKG C414’s/Ribbon mics on guitars and a C414 for vocals.
A REAL 1” 16 track tape machine is in the near future for the studio so that Lo-Fi Limo can really achieve the sound that I’m always craving, especially the drum sounds.
How has your style evolved and changed over the time since you first picked up an instrument?
I started out as a drummer at 14 and always loved rock music. I was into Collective soul and Gin blossoms then and I’m STILL listening to them! Eventually my taste’s went to a little bit harder music like Hoobastank, incubus and POD.
Nowadays, I’m really into The black keys kind of retro sound. So look out for the next Lo-Fi Limo EP to hear some of these influences.
What do you still want to do with music that you have not yet committed to recording?
I always like to give every song a fair chance to at least be recorded in the pre-production stage of an album recording to see what it may turn into. Some of the songs that I’ve written that I thought were absolutely terrible ended up being the best songs after it was fully written/produced/recorded.
How can listeners contact you and find snippets of your music?
Facebook.com/lofilimo is the absolute best way to connect with us, find and listen to music, and to even speak with us on a personal level.
Lofilimo.com also has our music, as well as our video single, “elephant in the room”.
Do you have any final thoughts for our readers at NeuFutur?
Dream BIG but don’t spend all of your time dreaming! A dream that is never executed remains only that…. A dream. Make sure you are doing everything possible to push your dream into a reality. And don’t be afraid of small beginnings, because every great thing started as something very small. And Little hinges can swing BIG doors. Make the most of every opportunity, because you never know who is taking notice of it…

Specyal T Dose of Distinction 2 LP CD Review
Dose of Distinction 2 is the latest work from Specyal T, and it shows considerable progression from Specyal T’s debut release. The 12 tracks on the title showcase a wide array of different styles, genres, and overall approaches taken by this stellar performer. End of An Error features Tyse and hammers home strong percussion with an upfront and in your face set of vocals; twinkling synths play in the background to make for one of the most dense and fulfilling compositions that we have heard this year. A number of listens will be required to hear everything that has been placed into this effort, further increasing the replay value of the song.
Batteries Ain’t Included is a track that links together rap and R&B into a sultry approach, with hints of Beyonce and Missy Elliott. The production keeps the energy of the track high while making for a track that will work equally well in clubs and on radio rotation. The track dovetails nicely with Paper Cuts in that it provides a diametrically different set of sounds for fans to eagerly devour.
No Such Thing bundles Specyal T with Jayde Wisdom, to create an effort that is slinky, soulful, and with just enough edge to keep the cut fresh in listeners’ minds long after Dose of Distinction 2 has finished. Make sure to purchase a copy of Dose of Distinction 2 on iTunes and Qobuz. Keep an eye on Specyal T’s Facebook and Twitter for the latest in information about her, subsequent singes, and any sort of live dates which she may be playing.

Create the Perfect Gamer's Living Room
Do you love gaming? If not, maybe your husband enjoys unwinding by diving into the world of fantasy and virtual reality that’s offered up by today’s hottest games, like those found on the Xbox or PlayStation consoles. Or maybe you have children who are huge fans of gaming and who spend hours letting their imaginations run wild.
Regardless of which member in your family loves gaming the most, if you have a gamer in the household, you should create a space in which they can feel comfortable as they play for hours on end. And the living room is the ideal room in which you can create a gamer’s haven that anyone will enjoy being in.
First Up, a Comfortable Place to Sit
A large, comfortable sofa, whether you prefer leather furniture or microsuede, is a must in a gamer’s living room. This is because the gamers will need to have a really cosy place to settle into for extended periods of time. The last thing that you want is to be playing for a long time only to find that your legs, back, and neck ache, so the most comfortable and relaxing couch, whether you go for a chesterfield sofa or any other style, is a must. And the bigger it is, the more gamers can sit and play at the same time, and the more people can sit to watch the fun as well.
A Wide Open Floor
For games that require a lot of room, such as those on the Wii, you definitely want enough floor space to allow for big movements. Keep an area clear in front of the TV so that more than one person can stand and play the same game. This might mean that you have to do away with the idea of a coffee table, but it will be worthwhile if it means that it will enhance the gaming experience.
A Big Screen TV
A large flat screen television that displays in high definition is a must-have for any gaming household. After all, the HD quality of these games can only be enjoyed on an HD TV. And the bigger the screen, the more amazing the graphics will appear and the more engrossed you will become in the virtual world you enter.
A Place for the TV and Console
Regardless of what gaming console you choose to purchase, or if you have multiple consoles, you need the right piece of furniture to house them. And if you can find a great piece of furniture that can house them along with your big screen TV, you will be able to save space and keep everything organised and close together, making it easy to pop a game in and start playing.
A fun gaming room is a great place to bring everyone together to enjoy each other’s company and maybe even get a little competitive to test each other’s skills. But the best way to enjoy the space is with the right design scheme in place.
CONQUER Offer Free Download 'Hell's First Born' From Upcoming EP 'A Worms Demise'
Unleashing their self-produced debut EP ‘A Worms Demise’ on December 2nd, Canadian blackened death metal band CONQUER are offering fans a second FREE download of the release with their track ‘Hell’s First Born’ at the following link here.
“‘Hell’s First Born’ is one of my favorite songs to play. It represents the constant duality between good and evil. It’s from the point of view of Archdemon who is born from darkness and sees the ideals of Heaven as unjust and feels as though the fallen angels have been given a raw deal. Musically it will appeal to fans of bands like Morbid Angel, Angelcorpse and Black Witchery.” comments vocalist Devlin Anderson.
The Oshawa, ON based band was originally created by vocalist Devlin Anderson as a one man black metal project, which has now grown to a full onslaught of blackened death with an influence of thrash featuring drummer Simon Oukhine, Ryan White on crushing guitar in the vein of classic Celtic Frost influence along with ex-Left Hand Creation bassist Rob Holden and his extreme groove.

Wild Garden Snack Pack To Go
There are a number of office buildings present and pretty much any city or location, the vast majority of these office buildings provide workers with a set of snacks that by and large is very unhealthy. Wild Garden has created a set of snacks that will have individuals filled without increasing their waistline. These snack packs contain hummus as the dipping material and this chickpea based dip is something that is head and shoulders more healthy than a ranch or vegetable dip. There is a plane and a garlic flavor of the hummus while there is a plain Crunchmaster and a quinoa based cracker to further vary the line.
These snack packs are perfect when one has to eat through lunch or one cannot leave the office for a healthier alternative. The snacks are available at a wide variety of well stocked supermarkets, health food stores, and online retailers. The shelf stable snacks can rest in a pantry for an extended length of time, something that ensures that one can come back to the snacks whenever they wish.
Our one suggestion for the snack packs to go would be to include further variety in the product line. One could conceivably include a jalapeno or a Sriracha hummus or could continue to experiment with the cracker types – I know that I would love a whole grain tortilla or a 12 grain cracker to keep the variety up.

Crown Royal Regal Apple
There have been a lot of different efforts on the market that attempt to marry a darker spirit with an apple flavor. The tradition goes back for a considerable time to the days of the bootleggers which created efforts like Applejack. Crown Royal has created their own foray into the apple flavored tradition with their Regal Apple. The Spirit is very dark and is something that will immediately appease fans of Crown Royal’s typical product offerings.
There is a certain zip, a bite to this whisky that wall immediately imbue a sense of warmth upon anyone that suits or steps this spirit. Far from the actual burn that exists there is a more delicate apple profile that is present with each subsequent sip that one has of the Crown Royal Regal Apple. The spirit is like somebody has boozed up a candy apple and put it into a drink, while the raw passion of the blend of whiskies that are used make sure that the bottle will be drained soon after it is initially cracked.
The Crown Royal Regal Apple works well as a sipping or a shooting spirit, but I really like how the spirit shines in revamped versions of typical whisky-containing mixed drinks. A whiskey sour has a considerable depth when one uses the Regal Apple, while a Crown & Coke makes for a strong but ultimately satisfying mixed effort. Make sure to purchase a bottle of Regal Apple from your local spirits shop before the supplies dwindle; a 750ml bottle of the stuff will typically run about $25 to $30.

Harpoon Winter Warmer
Harpoon Brewery has just released their Winter Warmer, one of the first winter seasonals that we have received for review this holiday season. The beer is able to go and stand on its own as a solid effort – one does not need to feel as if they are in the season to properly enjoy what Harpoon has done here. The beer pours with a very reddish brownish coloration and a nose that links together malt and barley with cinnamon, nutmeg and a wide array of different holiday spices. The beer’s ABV is pegged at a level (5.9%) that allows the delicate flavors of the effort to properly shine all while giving individuals just enough in the way of warmness to counteract a windy or cold winter’s night.
Harpoon’s Winter Warmer has a very expansive flavor profile as it continues to warm meaning that one will have a different constellation of flavors that are available to them when the beer is 50 degrees. It is this complexity of flavors that makes Harpoon’s Winter Warmer one of the few must drink beers that we have received so far in 2014. For information about the local distribution of Harpoon beers as well as further information about their Winter Warmer make sure to visit the company’s website. This is a limited time offering so make it a point to go and purchase your own six pack of the beer before it flies off of shelves.

THIRD ION Sign to Glasstone Records
Prog metal outfit THIRD ION, featuring former members of THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND and INTO ETERNITY, have signed with the UK’s Glasstone Records for the release of debut album 13/8Bit. Album artwork (below) comes courtesy of Harley K at Necrographix. A winter/spring 2015 release date will be announced in the near future. Glasstone Records stated “We are very excited to be working with THIRD ION and to be releasing their debut album!” THIRD ION issued the following statement regarding the signing and upcoming release: “We are beyond stoked to announce our partnership with Glasstone Records, who approached us several months ago about releasing our debut record, 13/8Bit. They have been great to deal with this whole time, and have a very artist friendly approach – a refreshing change with the times. The album is 99% finished, and same with the artwork, and once it’s all in we will pin down a release date and let you all know! Our hope in working with Glasstone is that it will help us reach a European audience, and result in performing over there as well. In the mean time, we have decided to share the album cover with you guys, drawn by our friend Harley K at Necrographix – we have been sitting on this for a while, and can’t wait to unveil it. Even if people only collect music digitally, we are nerds and this album cover is important to us! We are also having a CD Listening Party in Regina, SK (Canada) at the Exchange on December 18th at 8PM, so if you’re in our neck of the woods come and hear an early preview of the entire record, and maybe some other surprises.”
|
THIRD ION is: Justin Bender – Guitar Aaron Edgar – Drums Mike Young – Bass Tyler Gilbert – Vocals A project talked about, envisioned, and anticipated by Justin and Aaron since the day they met, by chance, in mid-2010. A few of the songs have been in the works since shortly after they met, but meeting Mike and getting him on board was the jump start needed to truly get this band off the ground.
Now with the addition of Tyler on vocals, and the first few songs demoed, everyone is extremely excited about the future of this project and where it could go. Planning is underway for an amazing live show, with an emphasis on minimalism and mood. Every single member of this band comes from a large base of touring and recording experience, and plan to use their resources to get this new project on the road and heard by as many people as possible. Plans are already under way to tour Canada, and seek label or grant funding to support the tours.

Jon Clark One Long Skid Volume 2 CD
One Long Skid Volume 2 is the follow-up to Clark’s 2011 initial volume of the One Long Skid series, and it provides listeners with some of the most eclectic and well thought-out rock music that they have heard. The guitar lick that begins Mr. Fix-It Man is emotive, alluring, and tells a tremendous story even before the rough and road-weary vocals of Clark begin. These vocals straddle the line between Bob Dylan and Ian Anderson, while the production of this initial track is at a level that current generations of music fans can appreciate.
Cloud and a Deed is a more trippy and expansive effort that showcases the technical skill of each musical instrument on the composition; hints of late Beach Boys, America, or Wings can be heard here. Don’t Tell Me Now is a folk-rock track in the vein of Credence Clearwater Revival, provided with an additional layer of complexity through the inclusion of a very soulful, choir-like backing that becomes active at various points during the cut. Many Friends is the final track on Volume 2 of One Long Skid, and it hammers home the comparison to the mid-sixties output of Bob Dylan; an immediate harmonica line immediately draw attention to the story that Clark tells here. The album ends emphatically with a number of different styles and approaches broached; this is one filling effort.
Make sure to visit Clark’s website for further information about his discography, additional press coverage, and an in depth biography that will provide considerable context to this stellar performer. While at this domain, one can purchase both volumes of One Long Skid (single volumes are $11, while both volumes are $16).

Molly Roth Believe Me Single Review
Molly Roth’s latest single is Believe Me, a sultry bbit of pop that showcases the tremendous vocal range of Roth while possessing something that will work well on pop rotation. The trqack looks back to the days of the tremendous female star (Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Beyonce) and has enough orchestral authority that one would be hard pressed to not hear a Bond theme kicking around. The drum / vocal dynamic is reminiscent of Adele, while the track is able to ride a wave of momentum to the end. Check Roth out to hear this new take on female singing and songwriting.

Orisha Sound One More Night Single Review
One More Night is a fun and funky track that blends together EDM and swingstyle into something that will interest fans of Alexandra Stan or Yolanda Be Cool. The vocal accompaniment to Orisha Sound’s harmonies provide a fullness to the track that allows it to deftly take up hints of reggae and R&B. Providing something to everyone, One More Night is an utterly successful track. Orisha Sound makes herself relevant with a track that is danceable while still having enough meat for those fans of musicianship and technical skill.

Craymer Underneath You Single Review
Craymer has just released a video for Underneath You, a track that deftly ties together EDM, indie, and R&B styles into a fun and catchy track. The disparate influences that filter through (Blink 182, The Anniversary) provide further depth for this track; listeners will have to spin Underneath You a number of times before understanding everything that Craymer has placed here. The overall production of Underneath You makes it ready for rotation, while the harmonies placed here by Craymer will infiltrate heart and mind alike until one is hopelessly ensnared.

Gerard Singh Crazy Single Review
There is a certain timeless feel to Gerard Singh’s current single, Crazy. The track has a driving beat and a set of vocals that touch upon hints of Rob Thomas and Jakob Dylan. The inclusion of a second set of vocals and a guitar line that is influenced by Santana make this track into a must-listen. The track can easily crossover to the pop or AC charts, all while pushing a very intense and focused style. This Singh song will bounce around listeners minds long after the track ceases.

Applied Nutriceuticals Fat Free
Applied Nutriceuticals has a new updated version of their Fat Free supplement and I am pleased to report that this product both provides individuals with non jittery and long lasting energy while facilitating the process of losing weight. The supplement uses a number of compounds to create its powerful energy complex and weight loss abilities. The product is based on caffeine at the beginning moving into inclusions like piperine or the active chemical from black pepper. Piperine has been utilized as a thermogenic and energy compounds since the days of Roman gladiators while another inclusion by Applied Nutriceuticals is green coffee extract. This allows people that are taking Fat Free to have caffeine in a format in which they are familiar – as nearly everyone supplements with coffee or mocha styled drinks whether it be cold or warm – during their day.
This means that Fat Free provides energy which individuals can easily control. Theobromine is another compound that is present in Fat Free; the supplement comes from chocolate and provides individual metabolisms with the boosts that they require to keep burning fat through the day especially after physical activities. DHEA in a 7-keto form is another compound present in Fat Free and ensures that users of the product will be able to go and keep the weight off as long as they maintain their physical activity and hold to a smart sort of diet – the supplement decreases the overall amount of adrenal fatigue that can occur with long-term activities. Fat Free can be the icing on the cake of weight loss and I would strongly suggest it to anyone that has not seen the results that they want from other weight loss supplements.

We were a big fan of the strength devices they had – heavy (TRX-style) ropes, weighted balls, a zip line, pull-up / monkey bars, and even a rock climbing wall are all present at the Gravity in Motion studio. Neapolitan Milk Stout
The Neapolitan Milk Stout that is currently produced by Saugatuck Brewing Company looks to improve upon a cluttered style. There is only a few breweries currently producing a milk stout and the quality of these efforts ranges pretty considerably. This Neapolitan Milk Stout is one of the best that we have tasted and it looks to go and involve the milk stout format into something that is thirst quenching as well as deep, dark and dank while having hints of chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla (Neapolitan ice cream). The beer pours with a very dark complexion and the specific viscosity of the Neapolitan Milk Stout feels to be a little thicker than even the most dense stout on the market. The fruit elements bubble up and become evident at points during the beer, something that provides additional complexity to the effort.
Individuals will be in the interesting case of having a beer that can work as a dessert as something that can be paired with a sweet, a chocolate or either rich pastry. As a drinking beer the Neapolitan Milk Stout ties together sugar and malt, fruit, vanilla and the slightest amount of hops that one could conceivably discern. The beer has a head that dissipates in a very slow fashion with a lacing that creeps its way down a goblet or other beer glass. The Neapolitan Milk Stout is able to bridge the gap between the sweet stout, porters and even Russian stouts. Microbrewery believers will appreciate what’s going on and fans of familiar foreign stouts will find something that they can easily think their teeth into. Make sure to visit the Saugatuck Brewing Company at saugatuckbrewing.com to see their full line of product offerings and to receive further information about the Neapolitan Milk Stout.
