Phil Varca & The SlamJammers 10/24 in Long Island

Phil Varca & The SlamJammers are an act that has been able to successfully craft a unique style of rock and roll while establishing themselves as some of the most compelling and intense musicians that are currently out on the touring circuit. The band has been out on the road for twenty-five years (playing with a laundry list of some of the best known touring bands, a list that includes Dave Mason, NRBQ, Popa Chubby, and Joe Bonamassa) and have been able to hone their live performance into something that has to be seen to be believed.

Make sure to visit Long Island on October 24th (7 PM start time) for a full night of music that seems to me to be an inverted pyramid – while Robin Trower (the headliner) is a legend in his own right, I feel that Phil Varca & The SlamJammers are an act that absolutely destroys conceptions that listeners may have regarding classic and hard rock. The band is able to successfully engage listeners like few bands can, all while showcasing tremendous technical virtuosity with each subsequent track that they play. Efforts like Come & Get It and Struttin’ are cohesive in terms of the ability brought to the recording by each band member, but they represent the sheer depth and breadth of the band’s influences.

The Phil Varca & The SlamJammers website is available at www.philvarcaandtheslamjammers.com , while the venue for the October 24th show is The Paramount (www.philvarcaandtheslamjammers.com). Let us know what you think about the band. Make sure to visit the band’s online home for biographical information, samples of their music, and the proper way to purchase Phil Varca & The SlamJammers merchandise.
