DAVE MATTHEWS BAND KICKS OFF 2014 SUMMER TOUR

Dave Matthews Band - named asone of the “50 Greatest Live Acts Right Now” by Rolling Stone – will kick off its 2014 summer tour tonight at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, TX. “A Very Special Evening with Dave Matthews Band” will feature the group delivering two sets per evening, performing songs from throughout its career in a variety of set-ups, from electric to acoustic, from full-throttle numbers featuring the entire group to intimate moments with small groups of band members.

The group will celebrate Fourth of July with a two-night stand at Chicago’s FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island (July 4 and 5) and kick off the West Coast leg of the tour with three sold-out concerts at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA (August 22-24). This year’s Labor Day weekend shows at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA (August 29-31) will feature two nightly sets by Dave Matthews Band plus performances by a Caravan of artists, including Brandi Carlile, who will play the Main Stage daily in her only hometown appearances of the summer. See below for itinerary or visit davematthewsband.com. Citi is the official credit card of the Dave Matthews Band Summer 2014 Tour.

The Bama Green Project – an on-going partnership between Dave Matthews Band and Reverb - will be collecting non-perishable food donations at the main gate and monetary donations to supply food banks with local farm produce at each show along the tour route.  All fans are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle, as clean filtered drinking water will be available on site. Visit bamagreen.org for further details.

On June 17, Bama Rags/RCA/Legacy Recordings will reissue Dave Matthews Band’s 1993 debut, Remember Two Things and – for the first time – the album will be available on vinyl. Originally released on November 9, 1993 on the group’s own Bama Rags label, Remember Two Things soon became a bona-fide word-of-mouth sensation and remains the first and best introduction to the DMB sound. The two-LP, 180-gram deluxe audiophile release will feature the original album packaged in an individually numbered gatefold jacket and include a download card that features the full album plus two previously unreleased bonus tracks: early studio versions of “Pay For What You Get” and “Typical Situation.” The CD and digital editions of Remember Two Things will also include both bonus tracks. Remember Two Things and Live Trax Vol. 30, a compilation of live recordings from three 1993 nights at The Muse in Nantucket, are available for pre-order now at 1993.davematthewsband.com.

Fans can view Dave Matthews Band performing “Ants Marching,” the first track on Remember Two Things, during its 2013 tour kickoff show at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion HERE.

Dave Matthews Band has sold a collective 37 million CDs and DVDs combined. With Away From The World entering the Billboard 200 at No. 1 in 2012, Dave Matthews Band became the first group in chart history to have six consecutive studio albums debut atop the chart. The band ranked as the biggest ticket seller worldwide of the past decade and has sold over 19 million tickets since its inception.
